11.12.2025 DESIGN FOR GOOD
Designing for nonprofits is both inspiring and humbling. You’re not just building a site — you’re helping amplify impact. After working with organizations focused on education, sustainability, and equity, here are five key lessons that shaped how I serve mission-driven teams.
If the mission isn’t clear to the team, it won’t be clear to donors or visitors. I help nonprofits simplify their message without losing soul — often starting by refining their “About” and “Donate” pages.
Nonprofit websites must be inclusive. I build with accessibility in mind from day one — color contrast, semantic structure, and screen reader compatibility are all essential.
Most nonprofits don’t have in-house web teams. I create CMS dashboards that are intuitive and provide training so updates don’t require a developer or designer.
Depending on the scope, I’ll either build the site (e.g., Webflow, Shopify) or hand off clean, annotated files to your dev team. Everything I deliver is responsive, consistent, and based on systems that scale.
Some of my best work was created under tight budgets — with clear priorities, lean tools, and trust. Strategy and focus matter more than budget size.
Working with nonprofits reminds me that design is a tool for equity. And when mission meets design clarity, real change becomes possible.
