Master 2 in Mathematics (2021-2022)

Université de Rennes 1 (France)

Master thesis:  Motivic stable homotopy theory and Motivic integration. (pdf)

Supervisors: Florian Ivorra and Julien Sebag.

Description

The master thesis focuses on  the construction of motivic stable homotopy category SH(X) of Morel and Voevodsky together with the formalism of four operations (f^*,f_*,f_!,f^!) and the nearby cycles in the motivic context. Recent work of F. Ivorra and J. Sebag have built a new bridge between the motivic nearby cycles developed by Ayoub and the nearby cycles derived from motivic integration and it is the goal of the thesis to present this connection.

Undergraduate thesis: Derived functors of non-additive functors on abelian categories. (pdf)

Supervisor: Dr Pham Van Tuan.

Description

This thesis, based on the work of A. Dold and D. Puppe, presents the construction of the derived functors of non-additive functors. To do so, the thesis proved the Dold-Kan correspondence theorem establishing an equivalence between simplicial abelian groups and chain complexes. It also connects this work with Séminaire Henri Cartan (1954-1955) on computing cohomology groups of Eilenberg-Maclane spaces as these groups are derived functors of symmetric functors which are non-abelian.
