General information

The seismic risk is transversal to the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, transcending borders. Earthquakes have important impacts on children, so schools play a vital role in increasing seismic resilience, in two ways: reducing the structural vulnerability; and by increasing the capacity of the student population to deal with the phenomenon, before, during and after the event. The PERSISTAH project proposes to develop tools for diagnosis, assessment, management and retrofitting of primary schools, and support material for teachers.
