About Us

The Friends of Perry Common Meadows (FoPCM) was established in 2023 by local residents who are interested in the development and care of Perry Common Meadows and the local park area. After some new houses were built along one side, the old Perry Common Recreation Ground became Perry Common Meadows. The remaining parkland was landscaped as a park for the local community and includes swales which protect against flooding. Hawthorn Brook runs through the Meadows as does the North Birmingham Cycle Route. The Earthwatch Tiny Forest in the middle of the site is the oldest Tiny Forest in Birmingham.

Our vision is to create a park that is an attractive green space and a resource for the local community, a place where both people and nature can thrive. A peaceful, natural environment where people can go to feel refreshed and restored, where spirits are lifted and friendships made but solitude can also be found when required. A place to learn about and connect with nature. And a place where the sense of belonging and community is strengthened.

Perry Common Meadows is surrounded by a mix of 550 to 600 homes, some social and and some privately rented/owned housing. There are several primary schools and a large secondary school close by. St Margaret Mary RC Church is on one corner of the Meadows and Witton Lakes is just across the road.
