Perplexity Exporter is built with privacy as a core principle. All processing happens locally in your browser. We do not operate any backend server, and we never see, receive, or store your data on any server we control.
We don't run analytics, ad tracking, or usage telemetry. But to do its job, the extension does process some data locally on your device — this policy explains exactly what and why.

To generate your exports, the extension reads the text of your questions, Perplexity's answers, and any citation links directly from the perplexity.ai page you're viewing. This happens entirely in your browser and is used only to build your Markdown, HTML, Obsidian, or Notion export. This content is never sent to any server we operate.

The following is stored only in your own browser and is never transmitted to us:
Your Notion integration token and target page ID (only if you set up Notion sync)
Your export format preference
A local record of which threads have already been synced to Notion, so the extension can append new follow-up messages instead of duplicating the whole thread
You can clear this at any time from the extension's settings page, or by uninstalling the extension — both permanently delete this data from your device.

If you choose to sync to Notion, the extension uses the integration token you provide to send your thread content directly from your browser to Notion's API (api.notion.com). This goes straight to your personal Notion workspace — we never see, receive, or store this content or your token. This only happens when you explicitly click "Sync to Notion."

Notion API (api.notion.com) — contacted only when you explicitly trigger a Notion export, using the credentials you provide.
No analytics providers, no advertising SDKs, no payment processors are used. The extension is free and always will be.
Your controls
Your controls
Remove your stored Notion token and preferences anytime from the extension's settings page.
Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data.
