If you want a complete, ready-to-install solution that includes the silicone hose and clamps specifically designed for high-boost turbo setups with a 90-degree bend, choose Taukealugs 90; if you need a bulk pack of precision stainless steel T-bolt clamps to secure existing piping on a modified vehicle with smaller diameter hoses, choose PEROMI 8.
• Best for owners who already have custom silicone tubing and just need reliable fastening hardware.
• Taukealugs 90: Delivers a complete 90-degree elbow assembly with 5-ply reinforced silicone and matching clamps, built to withstand extreme heat and pressure up to 2.6MPa, though it is limited to 4-inch ID applications. Best for new drivers building a full cold air intake or intercooler system from scratch.
The PEROMI 8 Pack is an engineering-focused component designed for one specific job: securing hoses in high-pressure environments where standard worm-drive clamps simply fail. This isn't a general-purpose automotive part found in every mechanic's toolkit; it is a specialized upgrade for the enthusiast who has moved beyond stock components. The unit consists of eight individual T-bolt clamps made from thickened stainless steel, engineered to resist the harsh conditions of a modified engine bay. These include high temperatures, strong vibrations, and the immense pressure generated by a turbocharged boost system.
What stands out immediately about this product is its focus on sealing integrity. This size range is common in performance applications like intercoolers, boost pipes, and radiator cooling systems on modified vehicles. The "T-bolt" mechanism provides a much higher clamping force than traditional screw bands, ensuring that the connection remains leak-free even when the engine vibrates violently during hard acceleration. If you are working on a car where power has been increased, the extra tension these clamps provide is essential to prevent boost leaks that can ruin performance.
However, you must understand what this product is not. It does not come with any hose material. It is purely the fastening mechanism. If you walk into a parts store looking for a pre-assembled pipe to connect two sections of your intake, this is not the item you need. It is also not suitable for standard, non-performance vehicles using smaller, stock-sized rubber hoses. This kit is strictly for the "refitted vehicle" demographic—racing cars, track days, or daily drivers that have undergone significant turbocharging modifications. If your pipes fall outside this range, the clamps will either be too loose to seal or too tight to install properly.

The Taukealugs 90 represents a different category entirely: a complete system component rather than just a fastener. This product is a 90-degree elbow coupler made from 5-ply reinforced silicone, paired with stainless steel T-bolt clamps. It is designed for drivers who need to change the direction of their airflow while upgrading the durability of the entire section. The most critical feature here is the wall construction. That level of strength is necessary for anyone pushing high boost levels, offering confidence that the hose won't blow out during aggressive driving or hard pulls.
The temperature resistance is another defining characteristic for this product. The silicone material is engineered to handle a massive thermal range, staying flexible in freezing cold down to -60°C (-76°F) without cracking, yet refusing to soften or melt under intense hood heat up to 260°C (500°F). This makes it ideal for extreme climates and high-performance tuning scenarios where the intake air gets very hot. The smooth inner wall is also worth noting, as it promotes efficient airflow, reducing turbulence compared to rougher, cheaper alternatives. The package includes the hose itself, the 90-degree elbow shape, and the necessary clamps to secure it, creating a single, cohesive unit for installation.
This product is specifically targeted at those working on cold air intakes, turbo systems, or intercooler piping where a directional change is required. It fits pipes with a 4-inch outer diameter, meaning it is significantly larger than the typical street car hose. However, this size specificity means it cannot be used for smaller diameter systems. If you are a new driver looking to build a turbo setup from the ground up, or someone replacing a blown-out section of their intake, this all-in-one solution is likely what you need. It simplifies the process by giving you the correct shape, material, and fasteners in one box, provided your system calls for that specific 4-inch dimension.
• Best for Complete Installation → Taukealugs 90, because it includes both the silicone hose and the clamps in a single pre-formed unit.
• Best for Bulk Fastening Needs → PEROMI 8, as it provides eight individual clamps to secure multiple points or future projects.
• Best for High-Pressure Sealing → Both are excellent, but PEROMI 8 offers the pure clamping force for existing pipes, while Taukealugs 90 adds the structural strength of 5-ply walls to prevent bursting.
• Best for Temperature Resistance → Taukealugs 90, due to its specific rating for -60°C to 260°C, making it superior for extreme thermal cycling.
• Best for Directional Changes → Taukealugs 90, as it features a fixed 90-degree elbow geometry that PEROMI 8 cannot provide on its own.
• Best Value for New Builds → Taukealugs 90, since it eliminates the need to source separate hoses and fittings for a specific turn.
• Best for Maintenance/Repairs → PEROMI 8, allowing you to replace worn clamps on various hoses without changing the hose itself.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would buy the Taukealugs 90 if my goal was to upgrade the intake system of a new car, especially if I am a new driver navigating the complexities of a turbo build. The reason is simple: the inclusion of the 5-ply reinforced silicone hose makes it a complete solution. You get the directional change, the extreme heat resistance, and the high-pressure capability all in one package. It removes the guesswork of sourcing compatible hoses and ensures that the material itself can handle the stress, not just the clamp holding it.
For a new driver entering the world of performance modification, having a component that is designed to withstand the full range of thermal and pressure extremes is far more valuable than just having a pile of metal clamps. The Taukealugs 90 addresses the entire connection point, reducing the risk of failure at the hose material itself, which is often the weak link in high-boost setups. While the PEROMI 8 is a fantastic tool for securing pipes, it relies on you to have the right hose already installed. In contrast, the Taukealugs 90 brings the entire system together, offering peace of mind that the whole assembly—from the clamp to the wall of the hose—is built for performance.
Yes, the silicone is rated to stay flexible in temperatures as low as -60°C, and the 90-degree design is meant to navigate tight spaces without kinking, provided you respect the 4-inch diameter constraint.
Using them on a smaller 3-inch hose would result in an improper fit that could lead to leaks or damage to the hose.
Yes, the package includes the 90-degree silicone elbow coupler and the stainless steel T-bolt clamps, so you do not need to purchase separate fasteners for this specific connection.
Both utilize heavy-duty T-bolt designs, but the Taukealugs 90 has the added advantage of a 5-ply reinforced wall rated for 2.6MPa burst pressure, offering superior protection against blowing out under extreme boost compared to standard hoses.
