The easiest way to enjoy a permanent system is to build your holiday presets once, name them clearly and attach each to a date on the schedule. Then the house changes on its own. Below is a starting list. Treat the colors as ideas, not rules, and adjust to your own trim and brick.
A few tips first. Two colors usually look cleaner than four. Slow effects look better than fast ones. And warm white mixed into a color scheme often makes it feel more finished.
New Year's Eve and Day. Warm white with gold, or a slow twinkle on white.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A calm warm white, or a simple solid color of your choosing.
Valentine's Day. Red and pink alternating, or a soft pink with warm white.
Presidents' Day. Red, white and blue in solid blocks.
St. Patrick's Day. Green with warm white, or two shades of green.
Easter. Pastels: soft pink, pale yellow, light purple and baby blue.
Mother's Day. Pink or lavender with warm white.
Memorial Day. Red, white and blue, kept steady rather than flashing.
Father's Day. Blue with warm white.
Juneteenth. Red, gold and green.
Independence Day. Red, white and blue. A slow wave between the three works well from the street.
Labor Day. Red, white and blue, or just warm white for the long weekend.
Back to school and game nights. Your school or team colors, two at most, solid or alternating.
Halloween. Orange and purple, or orange with a slow green flicker. A gentle effect suits trick-or-treat hours.
Veterans Day. Red, white and blue.
Thanksgiving. Warm amber, orange and gold.
Christmas. Red and green. Try solid alternating red and green, or a slow fade from red to green and back.
Hanukkah. Blue and white.
Kwanzaa. Red, black (lights off between pixels) and green.
Add your own: birthdays in the person's favorite color, a graduation in school colors, an anniversary in warm white with gold. Name these presets so anyone in the house can find them.
For each holiday, set the preset to start at sunset on the day you want and to return to everyday white the morning after. For longer seasons, such as December, schedule the start date and end date once. Write the list down so you can rebuild it quickly if you ever change phones.
If you would like a Nashville-area installer to set these up for you, Permanent Lighting Solutions can do it at install.
