Period. is a local group of passionate youth dedicated to fighting period poverty and stigma.
Fort Mill, South Carolina
We are a local group in Fort Mill fighting period poverty and the stigma around periods. Founders and operators Lily Sander and Laurel Hardy were inspired to make a change in their community after reading 'Period Power' by Nadya Okamoto. They learned just how real and serious the lack of access to menstural products, known as period poverty, is today. In their first year, they collected and distributed over 10,000 period products and actively give back to their community today.
'This is an issue affecting people in my community that I just couldn't ignore. Everybody deserves to feel clean and dignified, regardless of their financial situation."
