U.S. Tax season is here (for tax year 2022)
If you were physically in the U.S. even 1 day during the previous tax year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2022), then you have at least 1 IRS form to complete even if you had no income. If you worked and earned any amount of income in 2022, then you must file a complete federal tax return. If you were in the U.S. in 2022 and are currently outside of the U.S., please prepare to mail your tax paperwork from your home country to IRS.
IRS Deadline to submit tax form(s): April 18th, 2023
ISSS offers FREE tax prep software called Sprintax that is designed specifically for non-residents. ISSS advises you to ONLY use Sprintax, which is now available. Follow the iStart instructions to request the free code at the bottom by reviewing the tax information HERE
Alert! Tax Season is also Fraud Season!
ISSS has received reports of unknown individuals pretending to be IRS agents who try to collect tax payments via calls or emails. THIS IS A SCAM!
If you receive such contact, ignore it or ask ISSS first. For more details, please watch this short VIDEO about tax fraud and let your friends know.

Walk-In Counseling Services
Dahlberg Hall 207 & Virtual
Your mental health is correlated (and just as important) to your academic success. Students at all Georgia State campuses are eligible to meet with a counselor during business hours and in many cases, can be scheduled to attend a consultation that same day. Services offered by the Counseling Center include same-day consultations, group and individual counseling, 24/7 crisis consultations, collegiate recovery and so much more.
The Importance of Annual Wellness Visits
During an annual wellness visit students receive a physical exam, age and gender appropriate screening and labs, updated immunizations and can create a health prevention plan with a provider. In addition to physical wellness, the Student Health Clinic collaborates with the Counseling Center to provide routine mental health screenings that help students remain physically and mentally fit throughout college. Students can call 404-413-1930 to schedule an appointment or schedule online
