for President
Heyo! I’m Francisco Dojenia and I’m running for ASUW President. I was born in Seattle but grew up in Bremerton, Washington. I’m majoring in Education, Communities, and Organizations (ECO) and History, with a hopeful minor in Political Science. Whenever I’m asked “what’s your favorite period of history?”, it is difficult to pick a particular time period because I find it all so interesting. But recently I’ve had a focus on pre-recorded, archeological history, specifically interpreting how people lived in the past. I also make YouTube videos and draw maps for fun. I serve as the current Director of Internal Policy, and I’m running for President to lay the groundwork that will empower students on campus to translate opinion into actual policy on campus.
My Platform:
Focus on establishing student engagement to ensure our work benefits our peers, by having interested student groups hold forums and ask questions during Board meetings
Maintain parliamentary procedures to ensure that ASUW efficiently advocates and implements student policy
Work with OCOMM to reestablish relations with student publications
Work with FYP to introduce ASUW to students early
Reevaluate the ticket system to make it more fair to independents
Tackle the HFS by working with the RCSA, focusing on establishing cheap, high-density housing
Work with other student governments in the Washington Student Association (WSA) to address the common issues and plans for all our campuses.

for Vice President
My name is Amanda Pitts and I’m running for the Vice President slot in ASUW! I'm originally from Sumner, Washington. I am a junior studying English and Linguistics, with a deep passion for the implications of words and how we communicate. I grew up looking up to the University of Washington, and it is a joy to be here with the opportunity to run for VP! When I am not catching up on my readings for the week, I can be found working on my poetry collection, crocheting, painting, or playing Magic the Gathering.
My Platform:

Ensure that our documentation - including agendas, constitution, and bylaws - is as updated and accessible as possible
Maintain clear and consistent communication with the public on our work
Increase collaboration with entities outside of ASUW
Foster a community that is open and welcoming to the public by keeping the other Directors and myself accountable and easily accessible and increasing Director visibility at events

for Director of Internal Policy
My name is Erick Jacobsen and I am running for Director of Internal Policy. This is my first year attending UW – I am a Political Science major and I intend to minor in Spanish. In my spare time, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, listening to Hozier, and watching YouTube video essays. Some of my hobbies include creative writing and (very) amateur photography. I would describe myself as a massive nerd, which I think works out for the office of Internal Policy, considering it mostly deals with managing the bylaws and recording ASUW history.
My Platform:
Pursue comprehensive Bylaws reform to streamline bureaucracy and operations
Create materials to aid Executive transitions and clarify the duties and powers of ASUW members and entities
Consider establishing College and Departmental Student Associations for advocacy
Establish and maintain an ASUW informational and historical Wiki by creating a new Standing Committee
Form an internal strategy with the leadership of the Student Senate, setting achievable and measurable goals for the future

Collaborate with the Center for International Relations and Cultural Leadership Exchange (CIRCLE) to create spaces to increase the involvement of international students in ASUW
Make study abroad more appealing, either by adding destinations or making it more feasible

for Director of Campus Partnerships
Hi guys! I'm Sophia and I'm running for ASUW Director of Campus Partnerships. I was born and raised in Taoyuan, Taiwan. I’m majoring in Psychology and hope to minor in Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies (GWSS). I’m an outdoor person, and in 2018 my family and I went on an amazing national parks road trip. We camped in several national parks, including Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Grand Canyon, Arches, and Yosemite National Park. We saw many wild animals, and we once had a bear right outside our tent, which was scary! In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and meditating.
