Formerly People Against Annexation of Crowsnest
Do you want the option to vote YES or NO regarding future land annexations into the City of Castle Pines?
If YES, this post is for YOU!
We are looking for Castle Pines residents to help circulate petitions to place this issue on the November ballot. City residents should determine how our community will look in the future. If you believe this decision belongs to the people we must act now!
Two Proposed Charter Amendments will be circulated starting May 14th:
Petition No. 1: Voter Approval for Large Annexations. This ensures that any land annexation 20 acres or more—including multiple parcels placed together —can only happen with the approval of registered Castle Pines voters.
Petition No. 2: Ratification of Recent Annexations. This requires any parcel over 20 acres annexed within 180 days of this amendment to be referred back to the voters for final ratification.
Email us today to join! Let’s work together to make sure our voices are heard on the ballot this November.
March 2026
As of March 19, 2026, VT Crowfoot Valley Landco, LLC withdrew the Crowsnest annexation petition based on the approval of Resolution No. 26-23. This resolution directs city staff to develop an Annexation Policy—to guide future applications and ensure they align with our community's values.
Resolution 26-23: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Castle Pines, Colorado, Concerning the Development of an Annexation Policy, Imposing a Stay on Future Annexation Applications and Accepting the Withdrawal of the Annexation Petition for Properties Known as Crowsnest Annexation
Let's keep the momentum! Let's ensure every future decision honors the open spaces, wildlife corridors, small-town feel, and quality of life we refuse to surrender.
Thank you to everyone who signed letters, attended meetings, shared the Red County Blue State podcast, and spoke up—your efforts created this moment.
