Ticao-Burias Pass Protected Seascape
Ticao – Burias Pass Protected Seascape (TBPPS) was legislated as a protected area under RA 11038 known as the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (ENIPAS) Act of 2018 covering an area of 413,745 hectares. It is one of the marine biodiversity corridors of the country and is known to be the largest fishing ground in the region.
Features:
1. The largest protected area in the region.
2. The second-largest seascape in the Philippines next to Tañon Strait Protected Landscape and Seascape.
3. A home for Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, Dugong, Marine Turtles, and Corals.
4. A habitat of the globally rare Megamouth Shark (Megachasma pelagios).
