Mr. Stetson has been teaching in Penn-Delco since 2015 and will be completing his 11th year with the district during the 2025/2026 school year. Prior to teaching in Penn-Delco, Mr. Stetson taught K-8 General Music in South Philadelphia for one year. Mr. Stetson spent the first 7 years of his Penn-Delco career teaching Guitar, Steelpans, and Piano at Northley Middle School. For the start of the 2022 school year, he voluntarily transferred to the elementary school band position and is now excited for his fourth year in that position.
Mr. Stetson holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Rutgers University and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. Mr. Stetson's primary instrument is percussion, but he is also proficient on all standard band instruments as well as piano and guitar.
In addition to his work in Penn-Delco, Mr. Stetson has accumulated over a decade of teaching experience with drum corps, indoor drumlines, and marching bands. He has taught with the 10-time World Champion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps during the 2018, 2019, and 2022 seasons, working with students as they toured the country and performed in major venues such as The Alamodome, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Lucas Oil Stadium. Earlier in his career, he also instructed The Cadets2 Drum Corps in 2014 and 2015, as well as The Cadets Winter Percussion Indoor Drumline from 2014 to 2016. Beyond drum corps, Mr. Stetson has served as an arranger and instructor for numerous high school marching bands and indoor drumlines, most notably as Assistant Marching Band Director and Director of Indoor Drumline at Cumberland Regional High School from 2016 to 2018. He has also worked with programs at Old Bridge, Woodbridge, Robbinsville, Edison, and Clearview Regional High Schools. Mr. Stetson is currently on staff with the George Mason University Indoor Drumline for the 2025–2026 season.
Mr. Stetson is also an adjudicator for the USBands Marching Band and Indoor Drumline circuit. In the fall and winter, he spends many Saturdays adjudicating marching band and indoor competitions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and Connecticut.
In his free time, Mr. Stetson is an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys skiing, cycling, mountain biking, surfing, rock climbing, wakeboarding, running, and hiking. He is willing to try just about any outdoor activity and loves being outside in nature. In the winter and spring, Mr. Stetson is a coach for Clearview Regional High Schools mountain bike team. He lives in South Jersey with his wife Katie, his dog Snoopy, and his cat Lucy. He is also a big sports fan, and roots for all the local Philadelphia sports teams as well as his alma mater Rutgers.
