Now a junior, Werntz has been a key contributor to the Kingsmen’s continued success, helping the team secure the 2025 IHSAA Sectional, NIC Championship, and NIC regular season titles. He earned individual sectional championships in the 50 Freestyle and contributed to the sectional-winning 200 Medley Relay. His strong performances also earned him NIC Second Team All-Conference honors in the 50 Freestyle, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay, along with an honorable mention in the 500 Freestyle. Building on a sophomore season highlighted by a 2024 IHSAA State runner-up finish and NIC relay titles, including the 200 Freestyle Relay, Werntz continues to be a versatile and reliable sprinter and relay specialist who has contributed to championship teams since his freshman year.
