My research focuses on exploring the interlinkages between globalization, the environment, and sustainable development, particularly in Central Asia and Afghanistan. I am also interested in examining China's footprint in Eurasia.
I am a recent Ph.D. graduate from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
I am currently conducting new fieldwork in Uzbekistan and serving as a Part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Data Science at New Uzbekistan University, Tashkent. Additionally, I amd Research Coordinator at the Greater Eurasia Research Center, a collaborative initiative between the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and New Uzbekistan University. My work here focuses on political economic reforms and the development of an international research platform in Uzbekistan.
My research methods involve a combination of econometric analysis and field interviews, and I integrate GIS with demographic household surveys. I also hold a graduate certificate in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies. I have experience in Chinese (native), Russian (intermediate), Uzbek (basic), and Persian (Farsi, basic).
I have a master's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor's degree in finance from Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. From 2021 to 2023, I was Agora Fellow at the Center for Governance and Markets at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2022, I was also research fellow at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
