I grew up in a riverside neighborhood of the Yangtze River in Wuhan. As a teenager, I dreamed of becoming a National Geographic photographer. My passion for the natural world drew me to geography. That fascination led me from Wuhan to Beijing and now to Indianapolis, weaving my path of exploration and learning. Scientific training fuels my commitment to good science and my belief in the power of storytelling.
