"Hanegaku Gozen" was a legendary Japanese female warrior (onna-bugeisha) from the early 13th century. Known for her exceptional archery skills, she bravely fought against the Kamakura Shogunate in 1201 during the Kennin Disturbance. Her valiant defense of Torisaka Castle, where she used her bow to fend off attackers, cemented her reputation as a powerful and courageous figure. Captured after the conflict, she later married and had a child, leaving behind a legacy as a symbol of strength and defiance in Japanese history.
