PAGASA advises the public to stay tuned for updates, as Typhoon Kristine could cause significant disruptions across Luzon, particularly in Rizal and nearby areas, encouraging people to take precautionary measures, secure their homes, and prepare for potential evacuations.
Meanwhile, Mayor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares announced via a Facebook post that classes within the city of Antipolo will remain suspended for all levels, both public and private, tomorrow, October 24 due to the ongoing and expected downpour brought by the Tropical Storm.
In accordance with the guidelines on the cancellation or suspension of classes and work in school of DepEd Memorandum No. 37, s. 2022, in-person classes are automatically suspended in Local Government Units (LGUs) issued with TCWS 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 by PAGASA.
Furthermore, Rizal Governor Niña Ynares released an advisory through her Facebook page, advising Rizaleños to keep safe during the intensified movement of the Tropical Cyclone within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
“Kung kayo po ay nasa hindi ligtas na lugar (landslide-at flood-prone areas), hinihikayat ang lahat na makinig sa abiso at makipag-ugnayan sa inyong mga local DRRMO (Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office),” the Governor said.
On the other hand, hotlines are posted in the Facebook page of the city Mayor in case of the need of emergency services during Tropical Storm Kristine.
