Calling all singers! Our next session starts with registration on September 9th. This season we are pleased to welcome Bev Barradell to direct us in Dickens' A Christmas Carol - a dramatic reading with an eclectic mix of seasonal music.
We warmly invite new and returning members for what is sure to be a fun and rewarding season. Singers and wannabe singers welcome. No auditions necessary.
We sing a range of traditional and contemporary music, usually in 4 part harmony.
Don’t read music? We will help you.
Rehearsals will take place at the Pender Islands School on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm, culminating in concerts December 11,12, and 13.
Join us on September 9th starting 5pm to register and receive your music, followed by intros and a review of the program.
Registration is $75 for the season. We can accept cash, cheque, and card.
If you plan to participate but cannot make it to the first registration session, just send us an email to let us know! If the cost is a barrier to your participation, please reach out to penderchoir(at)gmail.com and we are committed to keeping the choir accessible.
Winter 2026 Choir Director
Bev has been active in the arts for most of her life, and as an educator she is committed to creating a joyful, inclusive and educational experience for singers. She began singing as a child and has never stopped. She taught voice and directed choirs in the north for many years, including establishing Northern Lights Youth Choir, which continues to develop young musicians today. Bev’s love of music encompasses many genres. She has participated in orchestras, chamber ensembles, small and large group vocal ensembles and musical theatre. As a member of Stage North Theatre Society she performed in everything from one acts to full musical theatre touring productions and provincial competitions. In Victoria , Bev continued to sing with Victoria Choral Society and CapriCCio Vocal Ensemble. Bev moved to Pender Island permanently after being a part timer for years. She has worked with the Pender Island Choral Society as a clinician and was thrilled to direct the choir’s 2025 performance of the Faure Requiem. She is excited to have another opportunity to work with this group to present a magical Christmas program.
