Persatuan Lawan Pedang Pulau Pinang was formed in January 2001 and is registered with the National Sports Council (NSC) of Malaysia, the Penang Sports Council (Majlis Sukan Negeri Pulau Pinang) and the Malaysian Fencing Federation (Persekutuan Lawan Pedang Malaysia), the governing body of fencing in Malaysia.
