Properties which depend on the number of solute particles in a solution are called colligative properties. These are very useful in determining the molecular mass of non volatile solutes.
These are categorized as :
Lowering of vapour pressure
Elevation in boiling point
Depression in freezing point
Osmotic pressure
Watch the videos to understand each of the properties separately. You can also download the notes for quick reference.

Raoult's law for a mixture of two or more volatile liquids
The change in the behaviour of a solution when a non volatile solute is added to a volatile solvent--- Raoult's Law for solutions containing non volatile solute.
Osmosis and Osmotic pressure
Elevation in boiling point- a colligative property
Depression in freezing point- a colligative property.
What happens when the solute particles undergo association or dissociation with their own kind in the solution?
