With over 60 patrons attending the 2023 Pelican Art Show was a major success! Check out the participants below.
And follow the links for Mary McCarthy and Dick Palackas for more info.
Ellen McFarland's great eye for a good shot was evident in her display of photos taken locally.
Ann Renaldo shows off some of her pottery masterpieces.
Sharron Sekol is seen holding a small piece of the quilt she started only after arriving at the Pelican
Sue Palackas stands among the many works of abstract art she has created in her condo this winter. Her knowledge and talent were conspicuous.
Jim Forney is back home in NC, but managed to send along photos of several of his projects and also a magnificent wine box.
There is no end to the talent at the Pelican. Mary McCarthy (daughter of long time snowbird John Armao) stands next to a collection of handmade cards, books (including a family cookbook) and poetry that she has created.
If you would like to read a cute poem that Mary wrote on baseball click here: My First Game
Here is another short piece that I also found humorous: Sr. Citizen Home Repairs
Dick Palackas entertained visitors with his knowledge of wine making. No samples, but he did hold a lottery for a free bottle of "Chateau Palackas".
For a great read on Dick's wine making experience and expertise click here: Richard's Red
Sharon Bown displayed her skills as she wove old sheets into rugs. Way to promote recycling Sharon!
And what art show would be complete without the works of Phil and Alice Mastin.
It was hard to find space for all of Alice's works in a variety of mediums.
Phil demonstrated his painting skills throughout the day. It was fascinating to watch this painting evolve throughout the day.
