When I engage in this community-based network, I agree that:
- I am here to help make Proportional Representation become a reality on PEI. I will stay on-topic, and not use this space for promoting other causes.
- I will use respectful language. I won't bully, belittle, harass, impersonate, or ridicule others.
- I will help to make this a great space for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small.
- I will respect diversity of opinion, and bring a sense of curiosity, seeking to understand differences in perspective within the network.
- If I disagree with something, I will focus on critiquing the idea, not the person. I will avoid name-calling, ad hominem attacks, responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content, and knee-jerk contradiction. Instead, if I need to disagree, I will provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
- I will be conscious of the number of messages (both frequency of messages, and their length) that I send to the full network list/forum - I will not monopolize, spam or take advantage of the space. I will put out calls for collaboration and then send further messages regarding the collaboration to my collaborators rather than to the whole network.
- I will make an effort to keep the space tidy. I won't divert discussion topics by changing tracks midstream. I will change subject-lines when I introduce a new topic.
- I will respect everyone's right to choose what discussions they will - and won't - engage in.
- I recognize that supporters Proportional Representation can be found in all parties. (So, for example, I will be careful to differentiate between 'the Liberal Party' and 'Liberals', many of whom disagree with the stance that their party has taken on this issue.)
- I support the Network Moderators group to hold us all accountable to these agreements, and support them updating these agreements from time-to-time, as needed. If I see anti-social behaviour occurring within the group, I will raise it with the moderators to be addressed.
