A Stripe account is automatically created when you list an item.You can manage or complete the setup in Settings -> Account before the first rental begins. You must complete the registration and verification to receive payments.
Go to Settings -> Account.
Verify your Stripe account.
Ensure your payment method is added and verified.
Rent fee is calculated and the service fee is deducted when the renter picks up the item.
For a daily rent price of $15 or less, the service fee is 5%.
For a daily rent price between $15 and $30, the service fee is 8%.
For a daily rent price above $30, the service fee is 15%.
Payments can be made via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or Afterpay.
The deposit is held during the rental period and refunded after the item is returned, minus any applicable fees.
Maximum Rental Periods:
Card Payments: 6 days
Afterpay: 12 days
Steps to Take:
Ensure your rental period is within the maximum allowed to avoid delays.
Check your payment method before confirming the rental.
Be aware that a 5% service charge will be added to the rental price, excluding the deposit.
Key Points:
If the item is not returned within the 5 days, the lender can declare a "no return."
The full deposit is transferred to the lender
Stripe may charge additional stripe processing fees due to delayed refund.
Action for Lenders:
Keep communication records and evidence of the transaction and agreement.
If the item is not returned after the specified period, proceed with claiming the entire deposit with chat screenshots.
Penalty fees may be deducted from the deposit for returns exceeding rental end date.
The lender determines the penalty fee in their no return policies.
Additional Fees:
Stripe may charge additional stripe processing fees due to delayed refund from renter.
Steps to Take:
Report the late return: If the rental is delayed beyond the agreed period, report the issue in the Drop-off step on your order page.
Provide proof: Ensure mutual agreement is documented (e.g., via chat screenshots) and upload it with your report.
Apply the penalty fee: Deduct the penalty fee from the deposit, as agreed in the rental terms and our team will send you the penalty fee from renter.
Orders may be canceled due to product unavailability, pricing errors, or change of mind before the rental paymentis made.
Steps to Take:
If any issues arise, such as incorrect prices or availability, you can cancel the order.
Ensure that cancellation are clearly communicated between peers to avoid misunderstandings.
