Extrude - extrude selected edges
Tex UV -> just scale texture coordinates of selection
Scale to fit, only for 2d projection, fits entire texture within selection
Smooth normals -> Smoothes each vertex normals by calculating average of normals of all faces that share the same vertex
Mesh to convex and Engineering tools
Menu path: Tools.
The lower part of the Tools menu contains model repair/conversion tools and engineering analysis tools. These are useful after importing complex meshes or before exporting/printing a mechanical part.
Mesh to convex
Menu path: Tools > Mesh to convex.
Mesh to convex converts the selected model into a convex-compound style representation. Use it when an imported mesh is too complex or not suitable for operations that work better on convex parts. Select one or more model objects first, then run Mesh to convex.
Use cases:
- cleaning up imported geometry before collision/engineering-style operations;
- preparing complex mesh data for workflows that expect convex components;
- simplifying a model before further CAD/CAM work.
After conversion, inspect the result in 3D view. A convex conversion can change fine concave details, so keep a saved copy of the original model if those details matter.
Change winding
Menu path: Tools > Change winding.
Change winding flips the vertex winding order of the selected model. Use it when faces appear inside-out, normals/shading are wrong, or imported geometry has the wrong front/back orientation.
Engineering
Menu path: Tools > Engineering.
The Engineering submenu opens the Engineering Analysis window. It contains three analysis entry points in the menu: Mass Properties, Structural Stress, and Drop Test. All three open the same Engineering Analysis form.
Mass properties
Calculates volume, mass, weight, and center of mass for selected model objects. Closed meshes give the best volume result; non-closed meshes may produce approximate values.
Structural stress
Lets you add a force to the selected face/model, then analyze stress. The app draws a heatmap overlay: green is safer, yellow is medium risk, and red marks weaker/high-risk areas.
Force inputs:
- Force (N): applied force in newtons.
- Direction X / Y / Z: vector direction for the load.
Drop test
Simulates a drop/impact estimate for the selected model.
Inputs:
- Drop height mm: height above the floor.
- Floor mm: floor/reference height.
- Stop distance mm: stopping/deformation distance used to estimate impact force.
- Direction X / Y / Z: drop direction.
Buttons in the Engineering Analysis form
Mass properties: calculates mass/volume data.
Add force: attaches the entered force to the current selection.
Analyze stress: creates the stress heatmap.
Clear heatmap: removes the analysis overlay.
Simulate drop: starts the drop test.
Reset: resets the drop test and clears the heatmap.
Practical workflow
1. Select the model or face you want to analyze.
2. Open Tools > Engineering > Mass Properties, Structural Stress, or Drop Test.
3. For stress, enter force and direction, press Add force, then Analyze stress.
4. For drop testing, enter height/floor/stop distance and direction, then Simulate drop.
5. Read the result text and inspect the colored overlay in the 3D view.
Notes
- These tools are approximate design aids, not certified engineering simulation. Use them to find weak spots and compare design changes.
- Results depend on mesh quality, scale, and whether the model is closed.
- Use Mesh to convex or Change winding first if imported geometry behaves strangely.
Pure tri sel - when you import a model that has only triangles and it has a big triangle count it will speed up and fix the drawing. You can cut these models with LIN mode, delete faces etc.
Toggle > Camera -> First select any object that will determine where and how big the preview will be - there are issues with exposure time and sometimes images are too bright or too dark, or on some devices the image is not attainable
ATTENTION: YOU MUST GO TO APP PREFERENCES( menu File > Preferences ) AND YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE FRAME SIZE, THEN RESTART IN ORDER TO RETREIVE THE FRAME
Text editor - opens text editor
Minimize - enters Picture in Picture mode. Double tap to restore view or switch to all active apps view (in android) and select the app. Or if you can't see the list click Home button this should restore the view.
When minimized you double tap at the center of the PIP screen to restart rendering then choose home button to focus the app.
Mesh to convex -> when imported a 3rd party model it has no proper encapsuling used by this software, this is supposed to fix that so you can actually use csg on the model.
Force reinstall, forces to overwrite all files needed to run the app.
