Following publicity efforts, we launched a second-hand donation drive within the school (clothes, books, light household goods). These items were collected through drop-off boxes placed around our school and the neighbouring community. The items collected were then resold through daily booths or via pre-orders on our social media and website.
This small-scale stage is designed to help us understand logistical, communication, and engagement challenges, and to serve as a learning phase before scaling up to the broader community.
After the sale of second-hand items, the Peduli Initiative collaborated with the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore (KBRI) & Indonesian Student Association of NTU (PINTU) to receive support & guidance on how to effectively tackle the inequalities faced by the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore.
We also contacted Indonesian-linked sponsors such as Grand Orchardz Hotel & Sinar Mas for support. Through the funds we gained, it helped us ramp up our scale of impact and flexibility in our approaces to help the migrant workers.
Procuring and packing over 100 care packages, including hygiene products, staple Indonesian foods, and drinks to remind the workers of home
Each care package was packed in an eco-friendly & reusable tote bag to reduce single-use wastage in our community.
We hosted our finale event on 24 August, together with the Embassy and Indonesian Community Communication Forum in Singapore (FKMIS), to celebrate the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Our finale event got the whole community together for bonding sessions, featuring arts & crafts workshops, traditional “Merdeka” (Independence) games, lucky draws and the distribution of essential item care packages to migrant workers.
Following massive success in Singapore, Peduli Initiative has branched off internationally, with chapters in West Borneo (Pontianak & Kubu Raya City). Whilst expanding our mission to support underprivileged communities, such as orphanages and nursing homes.
In West Borneo, namely Pontianak and Kubu Raya City, the projects raised over $1,000 in goods. With consistent quarterly donations underway, Peduli Initiative supports more than 200 orphans and seniors across 6 orphanages and nursing homes.
The Peduli Initiative then expanded its mission to support underprivileged disaster victims by launching rapid-response donation drives in response to the Sumatra (Aceh) floods
During the Aceh floods in late November and December 2025, we also organised 2 rapid-response donation drives, raising over $800 in emergency relief supplies in collaboration with the 465th Commando Battalion of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and logistics partners such as JNE.
