Welcome! I'm Pedro Barreto Melo, a Brazilian physicist based in Rio de Janeiro. I am currently completing my PhD at PUC-Rio, where my research explores the fascinating dynamics of quantum and classical systems through the lens of Stochastic Thermodynamics.
Stochastic Thermodynamics & Information Geometry: Exploring stochastic metrics and information thermodynamics within classical and quantum systems.
Open Quantum Systems: Investigating the thermodynamic consequences and behaviors of quantum systems interacting with their environments, including the thermodynamics of collapse models.
Topological Systems with Interactions: Analyzing phases of interacting topological insulators, with specific studies on the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model using exact diagonalization and topological markers.
