My name is Pedro David Morales Vega, and I am PhD candidate in Mathematics at Purdue University. My interests are generally in Partial Differential Equations, with a focus on scattering theory—which studies how waves and particles interact with obstacles or potentials. I look at solutions of wave equations associated with self-adjoint second order differential operators and their long time behavior. I work under the exceptional guidance of Kiril Datchev.
I am originally from Cuenca, Ecuador, a city in the Andean region located about 8,400 ft above sea level. I earned my B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2021, and an A.S. from Montgomery College in 2019.
