A very fast 5k experience!
for those who love to challenge themselves through running
The Pecos PR 5k Series was founded in 2020, during the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, to unite runners from Arizona and give them in-person races in a safe setting, when no races existed. The spirit of the series is to never let racing die, and to promote running as a way to stay healthy, keep one's sanity, and to feel alive and accomplished. The series is also designed to gather the best runners around and promote camaraderie and create a strong running community where everyone encourages each other.

Building a community of runners that know each other is one of the many important aspects of the series put on by Coach Flash.
The Pecos PR 5k Series hosts some of the fastest middle schoolers, high schoolers and adult runners in the State of Arizona. Few 5ks in AZ have ever seen more depth in fast performances. See course records here.
Easy to follow, fast course. The course is two identical loops around Pecos Park in Phoenix, Arizona. It features some dirt, some pavement and some concrete, with a quick downhill and a short uphill to balance things out. It is professionally measured by an anal-retentive running nerd, to exactly 5000m, using a metric measuring wheel, so if your Garmin says otherwise, go ahead and edit it post-run to reflect 3.104 miles. Coach Flash Santoro puts on several race series per year, and the Pecos PR 5k Series is another that meets his serious standards of excellence in a race production. Course distance accuracy, well-marked, being spectator-friendly, and a race for those who love running are of the utmost importance. The finish is recorded on video and has multiple checks and balances for timing accuracy.
