Endings
There are 29 possible endings to achieve in I Was a Teenage Exocolonist that can be broken up into two categories: Special Endings and Career Endings. Some endings can be achieved together in the same lifetime, though they are category exclusive; two Special Endings or two Career Endings may not occur in the same lifetime. The player can unlock the 'All Possible Selves' achievement by finding all the endings.Â
Meet and befriend Sym outside of the Colony
Meet the Overseer with Sym
Bring the Overseer's offer back to the Colony - must have either Marz or yourself as governor
During Glow season in year 10, complete the persuasion, reasoning, and animals challenges
Unlock 'Hunting in the Swamps' by talking to Rhett on the ridge
Explore the swamps with Vace three times and clear the boss events
Talk to Rhett from the Expeditions menu. He will send you to Engineering to talk to Convergence about designing a virus to disable the Array. Report back to Rhett after you have the virus
Explore the swamps again and look for Nocticulent. You need to complete this boss event three times to kill him and take his head.
Go to the boss event at the end of the swamp and use Nocticulent's head as the key. Complete a combat or perception check and install the virus into the Array.Â
Throughout the run, lower the Colony Defense until it is below 5
Unlock 'Hunting in the Swamps' and complete the Unisaur boss event in year 17 or 18
Follow the process of 'Disable the Array' but stop at step 4 - defeat Nocticulent but do not upload the virus
Prevent Tangent's project, or else 'Tangent's Cure' will come first
If the Colony Defense is below 5 during Glow of year 19, the Colony will be overrun and this will trigger the ending
Befriend Dys
Do not prevent Dys from planting the bomb in year 9
Find Dys in the new boss event at the end of the Ridge at the beginning of year 10
Select the dialogue option to talk to Sym first, then chose the option saying you want to be a Gardener too and complete the story event
*If you talk to Dys first, you still have the option to talk to Sym about becoming a Gardener after Dys has entered the vat
Have the card "Dys's Secret III" and a fully levelled up relationship before the Wet Season of year 18
Talk to Dys during Wet or Glow of year 18 and select the "Set it off, Let's leave together." dialogue option
*Asking Dys to join him will also work if you are dating him after selecting the "Please don't leave me." dialogue option
Learn about the connection between your dreams and the wormhole in prior playthroughs by choosing wormhole-related options in Glow
Get the Second Engineering card in a prior playthrough by prioritizing Robot Repair and Engineering
Befriend Congruence in a prior playthrough by getting Empathy 80
Select "Ship Engineering Manuals" as your childhood gift
Choose Congruence as your childhood friend
When the Stratospheric is about to go through the wormhole, select 'Recalibrate the shields'
Tell Congruence to disable the shields completely
Start a new game after reaching the 'Stratospheric Destroyed' ending
Take the chance to restart the wormhole
*There is an alternate version of this ending that is achieved by selecting the "I belong on Earth." dialogue option instead
Must have a net +1 'Helped Tangent' three months after talking to her on the rooftop - which requires high friendship with her
Lum must be governor by Wet 19
Tell Tangent you support her cure
Proceed with the events of the game until the end of year 19, in which the "cure" will take effect
Meet and befriend Sym outside the colony
After unlocking 'Sneak Out During Glow' by befriending Dys, do so during the remaining years of the game
Visit several exploration sights until you find the boss event with a Faceless
Chose 'Embrace Infinity' to trigger the ending
