This theme reflects the need to balance global perspectives with local contexts. It acknowledges the impact of globalization, the importance of localized approaches, and the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) in early childhood education. This theme encourages more appropriate practices in new era that bridge global and local dimensions to enhance the quality of education for young children.

Keynote Sessions: These are four keynote sessions during which all attendees gather to hear keynote speakers or experts discuss overarching themes.
Symposium: Two theme-based symposia led by top scholars.
Parallel Paper Sessions: Paper sessions that run concurrently with the 11 themes suggested by PECERA. Attendees can choose from different topics of symposiums happening simultaneously.
Poster Sessions: Researchers present their work through visual displays (posters). Attendees can interact with presenters and learn about various research projects.
Kindergarten Visit: Participants from both home and abroad will have the opportunity to visit and experience the unique activities of Shanghai's kindergartens.

Shanghai Institute of Early Childhood Education
Shanghai Institute of Early Childhood Education at Shanghai Normal University, founded on January 18, 2021, builds upon the legacy of the university's Department of Early Childhood Education, which was established in 2002 under the College of Education.
