Peninsula Hamper Party 2023

After a brief hiatus, we are looking forward  to the 12th Annual hamper party! This year we're doing things just a wee bit differently. The party started out as both a way to get together and see everyone at Christmas, AND put together the hampers. But.... thanks to your generosity, the hampers grew and grew and grew and there was less time for catching up. So this year we will hold an open house at our home on Saturday afternoon for socializing and then assemble the hampers Sunday morning at the McTavish Academy of Art. You are welcome to come to one or both, whatever suits your fancy!  Here are the details:

Our goal is to once again fill 100 hampers, which will be distributed  by the Saanich Peninsula Lion's Food Bank. We will be accepting food, gift cards (for turkey/protein), and cash donations. We are aiming to purchase many items from local farms and businesses, and having the donations in advance helps us to budget. Donations may be brought to the open house, but if bringing perishables please let us know in advance to make sure we have the ability to store it. 

We ask that all cash donations be made before December 17th and all food donations arrive by 12pm Noon on December 17th.

Once again we will be using an online form and chart to help us coordinate donations. Please select what you are able to bring, and the quantity, from the drop-down menu as you complete the form here. This will allow us to tally and track the donations. We've left items that have already been donated off of the list. Beyond the choices provided, you are welcome to bring other items as well. Other ideas include sweets, herbs and spices, condiments, jams & jellies, nuts, hot chocolate, Christmas crackers, gift certificates, laundry soap, personal hygiene products, etc. 

There is a specific section for cash donations. Cash donations, particularly those we receive in advance, help us plan and identify what we can afford to purchase to complete the hampers. We are grateful to be receiving donations or discounts from the Deep Cove Market, Fickle Fig, Firbank Farm, Michell's Farm, Thrifty's (Sidney), the Red Barn, Level Ground Coffee, Janet's Special Teas, and more! 

Cash donations can be sent via e-transfer to peninsulahamperparty@gmail.com or dropped off/mailed to Patricia Pearson, 10255 Tsaykum Road, North Saanich V8L0A2. We are not a registered charity and are unable to provide receipts for cash or in kind donations. 

If you know of any other farms or businesses that might be interested in donating or offering discounted prices, please let us know. We are happy to provide you with a donation request letter, or reach out directly

There is also a place to sign up to volunteer on Sunday the 17th to help fill and load the baskets. You can sign up using the form below; please indicate approximately what time you hope to attend.
