This Weapon Design was created for the Monster Hunter Wilds Design contest, in which the winner gets their design placed in the game. I drew inspiration from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and baroque ornaments. I chose the bow because it is my preferred weapon in the game. The design reimagines Titania as a weapon, and I wished to include an ethereal face to show that, as well as beautiful wings on each side. I ended up choosing the name because Regina means queen, and the colors are reminiscent of dawn.
This Monster design is based on one of the demons from the "Ars Goetia," who goes by the name Glasya Labolas. It is described as a dog with gryphon wings, an author of manslaughter and bloodshed, and can influence friends and foes to love each other, as well as incite homicide. With these details in mind, I began my initial design of a canine body attached to a humanoid body in a centaur-like way. After I was satisfied, I began to focus on the element of manslaughter and bloodshed. I gave her serrated horns and a double set of talons inspired by the monster "Odogaron" from "Monster Hunter World". The red on her plumage is soaked up blood, which creates a trail on the floor from her wings dragging on the ground. Her face is in a constant state of elation, and her mouth is cosmetic. I wanted to make it clear through her much cleaner top half that Glasya does not kill to live; she kills for pleasure. Her gold accessories also communicate her power as a president/earl of Gehenna, a D&D campaign that is under construction.
This Design is based on a different Member of the Ars Goetia named Naberius. Naberius is described as a muscular man with black wings and three dog heads. He is also theorized to be Cerberus of Greek myth, but that isn't confirmed. The black wings and dog heads stood out to me the most. I chose the molossian hound to represent him, as it is an extinct breed of dog from Greece. And I made sure to make the feathers iridescent and colorful like those of a raven. His ranking in the Goetia is that of a Marquis, but he is also among the six great officers of Lucifer, so I made sure to give him a uniform to match. He is said to be a cherubim, so to tie this aspect to his design, I framed his broken halo to look like horns to harken back to the bull's head cherubim have. I also added four wing motifs to the bottom of his coat and the top of it. His wings are a source of pride and shame to him because, as punishment, he was stripped of his other wings and left with 1 that would be bound by holy chains. I made sure to use the crippled wing to emphasize his silhouette instead of using it as a regular wing hanging off his back. Unlike Glasya, he is much smaller, and his design is simple, so giving him a sense of power through symbols, pose, and clothing.
This design was based on Ipos, a prince and earl of hell. Ipos is often depicted with the Body of an angel, the feet of a goose, and the head of a lion. Ipos's main abilities include being able to see into the past and future, but also making men Witty and Valiant. For this project, I wanted to make Ipos into more of a poet rather than a soldier or king. I wanted him to seem trustworthy and approachable to the players, so I leaned into the aristocratic look while keeping the colors much brighter and colorful when compared to his coworkers/brothers and sisters. Ipos is a weaker demon in all aspects that aren't diplomatic or enhancing the abilities of others, so his design strikes less fear than that of Glasya Labolas. to make him seem even more trustworthy I gave Ipos swan wings and a crown that floated above his head like a halo which harkens back to his past as a an angel. To add red herrings and subtle warnings to his true nature, I used the language of flowers and his hands to tell a different story. Gloved hands are said to mean a person has ulterior motives, and adding the steepling hand position makes him seem like he's plotting. His crown is adorned with Foxglove flowers, which symbolize insincerity, insecurity, and delirium, all things that match his true personality. He also smells of lavender, which is a symbol of distrust. Giving him a familiar human-like visage was also done in order to bring more familiarity and comfort for humanoids.
This wallpaper is of the character Cotton from the Roblox game "Toyhouse Funhouse" that is being produced by Z-studioz. "Toyhouse Funhouse" is a mascot horror game revolving around players performing tasks and uncovering the secrets of the establishment, as well as trying to survive the corrupted toys that roam their respective floors. Cotton is one of the playable toys, and this wallpaper was done as a reward for our Kickstarter backers. The art style of the game is heavily inspired by the classic rubberhose style, like Cuphead. Although it is out of my comfort zone, I was able to adapt to the art style and produce works such as this one for the game. This design was pretty streamlined in its process and took a very short time to get from a concept to the final product.
