PFTC Christmas Social 2025: A Festive Round-Up
The 2025 PFTC Christmas Social was, once again, one of the highlights of our club calendar and this year’s was bigger, sillier, and more spirited than ever!
We kicked off the day at Cloud Coffee where everyone gathered to fuel up, catch up, and get into their teams for our iconic Christmas Strava Art Challenge. Each team had two hours to plot and run a real life, Christmas-themed Strava art course but of course, there was more mischief along the way!
Between the running and route planning, teams faced bonus challenges designed to test their creativity (and sometimes their bravery). These included hunting down a Christmas-themed item from a local charity shop, recreating a scene from an iconic Christmas movie, and finding a member of the public with a name out of the Bible.
There were also extra challenge cards to be drawn at random, but be warned: these could make or break your game! Thankfully, this year everyone made it back on time, so no teams had to forfeit points. Congratulations to Team 4, who pulled off an exceptional win with their festive Strava masterpiece and great challenge efforts.
Once the running and scavenging were done, we regrouped to swap stories, admire everyone’s art (some of it more questionable than others), drink more coffee, and just enjoy some well-earned downtime together.
Then it was time to scrub up for the evening’s main event- our annual PFTC Awards! A huge round of applause for all our 2024 winners:
🏆 Strava Art Challenge Champions – Team 4
💚 Person Who Embodies PFTC – Maddie Stewart
🏃♀️ Most Improved – Gamal Lewis
💛 Most Stuck-In Newbie – Steve Cross
🤿 Bog Snorkler – James Rolstone
🧭 Incompetent Navigator – Danny Fitzgerals
🏃 Summer Fell League Champions – Kayleigh Renberg & Sam Davison
To everyone who joined our runs, shared the PFTC spirit, and supported the community this year, thank you. And an extra shoutout to the core team for all their dedication behind the scenes to make the fun (and the chaos) happen.
It’s brilliant to see so many people getting out on the trails, exploring the fells, racing, and having a laugh together in an accessible, fun, barrier-free way.
Here’s to an even bigger, muddier, and more joyful 2025, and our third year of PFTC adventures! 💚💛
