What is Student Support?
Student support refers to those academic and non-academic services and initiatives that aim to increase the overall performance of students, particularly those who struggle with ADHD or a learning difference. Student support can encompass traditional educational strategies, for example, study skills and explicit instruction targeting specific academic areas. Student support also includes socio-emotional and behavioral support, such as emotional regulation and social skills, relationship building and community-building strategies to increase the overall well-being and success of students. The ability of young people to handle their big emotions, organize their thoughts and feelings and know that they are capable of achieving even during hard times is an invauable asset to them as they navigate their school years.Â
