Follow the instructions below to complete your Explore Performance Task. If you have any questions, please let me know as this is a very important part of your grade, both for the course and for the national exam in May. Send me a Remind message or an email to dpeagler@starkvillesd.com with any questions.
If you'd like to see some examples they can be found at this link. The scores that each one earned and the rationale behind the decision is given in this document. I recommend picking a few and using the rubric to score them for yourself. Then use the second document to check how they did. Knowing how to score the document will help you know what the AP readers are looking for and is the single most important thing you can do to improve your score.
This is a copy of the rubric that the College Board will be using to evaluate your Explore task. Read over it carefully and then use it to grade some of the sample student responses, from the link above.
This is a document, created by code.org, that lays out all the necessary steps in completing your Explore task. Carefully read it and work though everything. The most important thing is selecting a good topic that meets all of the guidelines. Reach out to me if you need help.
When you are finished follow these instructions to upload your work to the Digital Portfolio. https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/digital-submission/submit-ap-csp-work
DO NOT DO STEP 8! I will be doing a quick check over everyone's submissions to make sure that there are no technical difficulties before submitting.
Here is a copy of the scoring worksheet the College Board used to score exams last year. It will not be exactly the same this year, since there is no multiple choice section, but I'd imagine that the scoring of the two performance tasks will be the same. Note that each line is worth a different percentage of the overall score. Pay particular attention to the lines with a high percentage when you are working.
