Arc 9: Chapter 9

Lin Yuan didn’t expect to see the two men before their agreed time at night. It was at least four hours too early, and the sun hadn’t even set yet.

He asked genuinely: “Why are you here?”

As Yu Jin observed the dress of these two men, he noticed the empty sheath by Xie Daolan’s waist and connected the dots in his head. He raised an eyebrow and intentionally leaned close to the teenager’s ear, whispering like an intimate lover: “Sui Sui, is this the master you said saved you but left you to fend for yourself on your eighteenth birthday?”

At the same time, Xie Daolan was studying Yu Jin. The man in a dragon robe that didn’t fit in with the modern era had a strong breath of a ghost king. He couldn’t fathom how Lin Yuan left Xie’s house for less than three hours and picked up another ghost king, even sitting on the other’s lap.

What made his face even darker was that Lin Yuan seemed to be quite happy sitting there.

Lin Yuan couldn’t smell the gunpowder in the air at all, and answered innocently: “That’s right.”

Yu Jin chuckled all of a sudden. His eyes were filled with amusement and he said: “Sui Sui, then he lied to you.”

Lin Yuan asked with doubt: “Lied to me? What did he lie about?”

Yu Jin’s smile deepened, and he looked at Xie Daolan oppressively: “If this master wanted to, he could protect you for your entire life, not to mention just your eighteenth birthday. What fate? What destiny? Those are all just excuses because he’s a stickler to the Taoist rules. And for me, I’m an evil spirit who goes against Heaven. I naturally don’t care about Taoism. With me, nothing will happen to you on your eighteenth birthday… provided you feed me obediently.”

Xie Daolan shot back: “You also know you’re an evil spirit, but Lin Yuan is a living person. The living and the dead belong to different worlds. If he feeds you with his blood, he will eventually gather the wrath of Heaven.”

Lin Yuan’s first reaction wasn’t to get mad. Instead, he thought with envy of how his stinky brother would be fine even with five ghost husbands. This was the difference between the protagonist and everyone else, Lin Yuan sighed in his heart.

As a ghost king, Yu Jin didn’t care for right or wrong, morality or degeneracy. He largely acted upon his desires, so Xie Daolan’s talk didn’t make him care at all.

As if rebelling, Yu Jin lowered his head and bit Lin Yuan’s neck. The sweet fragrance of Lin Yuan’s blood quickly spread through the air, stimulating Xiao Ying. Although Xiao Ying was instinctively on guard against Yu Ying, the alluring fragrance won over all of his senses.

Xiao Ying drew nearer to Lin Yuan. Yu Jin glanced over lazily and didn’t stop him. Xiao Ying took hold of Lin Yuan’s wrist and lowered his head, ready to bite the teenager.

Before Xiao Ying could bite down, the ghost king remarked seemingly carelessly: “Kid, the smell of blood on you hasn’t dissipated yet. Don’t be greedy, you’ll hurt him.”

Xiao Ying seemed to understand. Instead of biting, he stretched out his tongue and slowly licked the thin layer skin above Lin Yuan’s veins. Although it wasn’t satisfying, it could still quench his thirst.

Xie Daolan felt as if his worldview was being upheaved after witnessing all of the unbelievable scenes he was seeing today. One ancient ghost king and a half-ghost were all attracted by a teenager. He wanted to leave, but his feet were inexplicably stuck in place. He reasoned to himself that it was to oversee the two ghosts, preventing them from swallowing Lin Yuan’s extreme Yin body whole.

Lin Yuan was surprised by the sudden bite, but he didn’t feel any pain thanks to Yu Jin blocking the pain for him. Feeling the other sucking on his neck, he gradually felt dizzy and even pleasurable.

Yu Jin wasn’t serious about drinking Lin Yuan’s blood. After a few sips, he pulled away and licked his lips in satisfaction. Seeing Xie Daolan’s dark expression, he said with some curiosity: “I can tell that this master has a pure Yang body. According to my knowledge, the pure Yang body should also desire the extreme Yin body. If you practice with him, then your cultivation will definitely improve greatly, no less than us evil spirits.”

Xie Daolan’s cold expression didn’t fluctuate, but only he knew the strange feeling in his heart. The man said with indifference: “I have no need for shortcuts. The path of Taoism must be walked with sincerity.”

With a burst of laughter, Yu Jin leaned lazily on the teenager’s soft and fluffy head: “Sui Sui, did you hear that? Although he doesn’t want you, I want you, and looks like this kid wants you too. From now on, Sui Sui only belongs to the two of us.”

Xie Daolan’s brows furrowed subconsciously. He really did originally plan to leave Lin Yuan to someone else, but he was still human after all. It was hard for him not to have some unspeakable ideas after today.

When his hidden thoughts were suddenly seen through, Xie Daolan first felt a rush of shame, but then he calmed down quickly. Muttering a spell under his breath while his fingers drew a body-binding spell, Xie Daolan caught Yu Jin off guard and immobilized him, cutting off Yu Jin’s senses.

In the next moment, the teenager on the ghost king’s lap reappeared in Xie Daolan’s arms.

Lin Yuan's nose was filled with the scent of incense, and the arms around him were warm and strong. He looked up in confusion at Xie Daolan’s tight jawline and whispered: “Sir?”

Xie Daolan’s large hand tightly cupped Lin Yuan’s waist. He lowered his head and said softly: “Don’t listen to him. It’s true that maybe because of my pure Yang constitution that I… have some thoughts about you, but it’s also true that I don’t need to make you suffer to take shortcuts. I don’t not want you. I just think there’s no need for me to say this in front of the ghost king.”

Lin Yuan found this situation a little funny. He didn’t expect his three husbands to fight over him so quickly. But he was clear that none of them actually liked him for him, they all just coveted his constitution.

But that’s okay, his husbands will like him eventually!

At this time, Yu Jin had broken the body-binding spell on him, and he stood up gloomily.

Although Yu Jin was similar in size to Xie Daolan, his gorgeous and wide dragon robe added to his oppressiveness.

Xie Daolan wasn’t afraid of him and protected Lin Yuan behind him.

Lin Yuan glanced around his small room and thought that if his two husbands really fought, he would need to find a new place to live.

Like a scene from a drama, Lin Yuan rushed in between the two men and said loudly: “Don’t fight! I’m very healthy, I can raise you three at the same time. Trust me!”

He looked at Xie Daolan with round and pleading eyes: “Sir…”

He turned his head to look at Yu Jin too: “Yu Jin…”

Yu Jin dropped his pressure and nuzzled Lin Yuan’s round cheeks, saying with a little grievance: “I’m willing, but this Taoist master of yours definitely won’t approve of a ghost king like me being around you.”

Lin Yuan was convinced and he turned to plead with Xie Daolan again: “Sir, please, I can really do it…”

Xie Daolan seemed to realize that this ghost king wasn’t actually using Lin Yuan’s constitution to advance his cultivation. Yu Jin merely regarded Lin Yuan, him, and Xiao Ying as momentary amusement. He wanted to see how long this ghost king would play for.

To everyone’s surprise, Xie Daolan nodded: “Okay, I agree.”

Lin Yuan left his bedroom to eat dinner, leaving the three other men in the room.

Yu Jin sat elegantly sprawled on the carpet. He looked over at Xie Daolan, who was meditating at Lin Yuan’s desk, and said: “Taoist, I want to ask you something. Do you know if that incongruent smell on this kid (Xiao Ying) is from Sui Sui?”

Xie Daolan didn’t open his eyes, but he said coldly: “You can’t tell?”

Yu Jin scoffed: “Can I not tell the smell from a pure Yin body? Why does fortune favor a fool? I just got to taste Sui Sui’s blood but this half ghost kid has gone even further.”

Xie Daolan ignored him, remaining silent.

Lin Yuan finished showering and came back to his room.

Seeing Lin Yuan flushed from the shower, Yu Jin beckoned him over: “Sui Sui, come here.”

When Lin Yuan got close, Yu Jin pulled open the neckline of Lin Yuan’s pajamas and said softly: “I’m hungry.”

Lin Yuan helpfully raised his arm, ready to let Yu Jin bite his wrist, when the ghost king carried him onto the bed and pulled down Lin Yuan’s pants, saying with undisguised excitement: “Let’s change the method.”
