Arc 7: Chapter 28
Lin Yuan didn’t expect Wei Feng’s blackening value to sky rockets so quickly, when he thought it was true that Wei Feng was also a victim of the war. But obviously Wei Feng didn’t think so.
The air seemed to become heavy and compressed, leaving Lin Yuan with a sense of suffocation. When he looked at the scarred and cracked imperial hero, he felt a surge of helplessness.
Lin Yuan stroked Wei Feng’s face, his thumb tracing the scar, and then his fingers moved down the man’s neck and covered his gland.
Wei Feng raised his eyes towards the youth in front of him and didn’t know what to say.
After a long silence, Lin Yuan leaned forward and hugged Wei Feng. He conveyed warmth that was larger than his thin and slender body.
“Wei Feng, even if you don’t think so, I still believe that you are innocent. The war was not your fault, the real perpetrator is His Majesty.”
Death was unimaginably heavy, and its weight alone was hard for any person to bear. In this world, five years of bloodshed, thousands of dead comrades, and the knowledge that all of this was because of one person’s selfishness, it was no wonder Wei Feng’s spiritual power would go out of control.
Lin Yuan kissed Wei Feng’s temple and murmured: “Trust me, it wasn’t your fault.”
Wei Feng’s pupils shook, and the warmth surrounding him made him a little confused. The barren land and lifeless faces blurred in his memory, like a gradually receding nightmare. Wei Feng shut his eyes and spoke with difficulty: “Sui Sui, when Bai Cen proposed marriage to the Kristaux family, I… I felt like my ego was satisfied, because he was a 3S Omega.”
The compliance and hubris he felt at that time, made him unable to forgive himself when he realized the truth behind the war. He hated himself.
But Lin Yuan thought it was normal to feel that way. Human nature was inherently complex, and no one was perfect.
Wei Feng’s voice sank lower: “If he wasn’t 3S level, I wouldn’t have agreed to marry Bai Cen so easily.”
“Actually, I’m not much better than Youhe Hovis…”
The Alpha pulled back from the youth’s embrace. His blue eyes were not as brilliant as usual, and were layered with darkness.
“I’m immoral, irresponsible, and a coward. I was intimate with you even though I’m married-”
Lin Yuan quickly retorted: “No! I was the one who took the initiative to seduce you. I wanted it!”
Wei Feng had never seen such a silly Omega. He flicked the youth’s forehead and smiled hallowly: “Silly rabbit, you may have started things but I let them happen. I should’ve cherished you and given you the best, instead of letting you suffer through internet bullying.”
Lin Yuan shook his head: “I don’t care about that.”
Not letting Wei Feng say anything else, Lin Yuan said directly: “Wei Feng, after you and Bai Cen officially divorce, let’s get married, and then bring me to the war zone back then, okay?”
Wei Feng was stunned. He didn’t know whether to be happy about the Omega’s proposal or nervous about the Omega’s request: “Sui Sui…”
Lin Yuan gave the man a kiss: “Wei Feng, you’re the hero of the empire and the only hero in my heart. Let me go with you to bid farewell to those who died. I’ll prove to you that it wasn’t your fault.”
Inexplicably, Wei Feng’s eyes reddened. Maybe because his little Omega had always believed in the good parts of him that he didn’t think existed anymore, or maybe because those violet eyes never wavered when he looked at him, but Wei Feng’s mood felt uncontrollable at this moment. He kissed Lin Yuan heavily and pressed him onto the bed.
His calloused hands caressed his fair face and his hoarse voice seemed a little lighter than before. He called out Lin Yuan’s name almost devoutly between kisses.
The youth closed his eyes and responded gently: “Husband.”
A while later, both of them were panting and flushed. Wei Feng rubbed the tips of their noses together fondly and whispered: “Sui Sui, I want to lock you up so I can fill your reproductive cavity every day.”
Lin Yuan didn’t expect the always restrained imperial marshal to have such a morbid idea. He blushed and stammered: “Well… every day is not possible. That’s too excessive… and not good for your health.”
Wei Feng, who was ready to laugh it off as a joke, was surprised by the little Omega’s response. He thought that Lin Yuan would be scared or angry. He stared at the youth’s shy appearance with an unfathomable darkness: “Sui Sui, I said I wanted to lock you up…”
Lin Yuan hummed: “En, I heard you. You also said you wanted to…”
He was a little embarrassed to finish the sentence out loud. He pecked Wei Feng’s lips like a soft rabbit: “Not every day… is every other day okay?”
The warm and humid touch was so sweet that Wei Feng felt like he was swallowing a mouthful of syrup. He couldn’t help but kiss Lin Yuan again, going deeper with his tongue and body.
Lin Yuan felt familiar thick fingers inside of him and moaned softly. Feeling the Alpha’s enthusiasm, Lin Yuan thought to himself that it was only a matter of time before Wei Feng’s blackening value dropped again. Once they went to the war zone… wait a minute…
Lin Yuan pushed the man on top of him and said uneasily: “Wait, wait, will there be ghosts on the battlefield? I heard that people who die in war are more likely to become fierce ghosts, they won’t eat me will they? You have to make sure to tell your soldiers that I’m your wife and they can’t eat me. If they eat me, your wife will be gone…”
Wei Feng listened speechlessly. He realized what it meant that people laugh if they are speechless enough, and he pinched the youth’s tender cheek: “Okay, okay, I’ll make sure to tell them that you’re my wife. They can’t eat you, only I can eat you~”
Lin Yuan blushed and his nervousness disappeared: “... En, only you can eat…”

In the empire, the law was more favorable towards Omega. Alphas couldn’t easily divorce their Omega because removing the lifetime mark was much more harmful to the Omega, so an Alpha’s divorce application had to be trialed by the Imperial Court.
On the day of the trial, the court was surrounded by masses of reporters and onlookers.
Lin Yuan didn’t shy away from his relationship with Wei Feng, and the two of them arrived at the court together.
As soon as they got off the hovercraft, reporters quickly swarmed towards them but were stopped by soldiers from the First Army.
One reporter shouted loudly: “Lin Yuan, you interfered with the Marshal’s marriage and destroyed their relationship, now the Marshal is abandoning the Omega he marked for you, do you feel guilty?”
Lin Yuan smiled at the reporter: “I don’t feel guilty. The one who should be feeling guilty is the Marshal’s wife.”
Reporters: ?...!?
Lin Yuan and Wei Feng walked inside side by side. Lin Qian had arrived earlier and the moment he saw his rabbit, he noticed the domineering Alpha pheromones all over Lin Yuan’s body.
Today was the divorce trial, can you two restrain yourselves?!
Soon, the judges were seated one after another. When the trial started, Wei Feng’s lawyer delivered his opening argument: “Your Honor, the Empire’s marriage law establishes that an Alpha may not unilaterally dissolve their marriage with an Omega except under extraordinary circumstances due to the binding nature of the lifelong mark. However, my client Mr. Wei Feng and Mr. Bai Cen did not form a lifelong mark, hence, the legal basis for this restriction does not apply to the present case.”
