Arc 6: Chapter 16

Lin Yuan was so angry he felt all of his blood rushing to his head. 

Ahhhhh! This bunch of wife kidnappers actually looked down his husband, how dare they!

Lin Yuan had already beat one of them, beating a few more wouldn’t make a difference.

In this era, the sense of empathy was relatively weak, and there wasn’t a strong concept of taking revenge on another beastman’s behalf. If you couldn’t beat someone, then that meant you were just too weak.

“Heh…” The corner of Lin Yuan’s lips curved slightly, as if he was watching a joke. His golden eyes flashed like cold sparks.

“That’s right, I’m a slave’s female. Even so, my mate is much better than you bunch of males who steal food and females from other tribes to survive. You aren’t even as good as a slave!”

Lin Yuan could see that the expression so these males darkened, and he continued to taunt them: “I’m curious if you bunch of cowards who only dare to steal when our warriors are out hunting have the guts to fight against my Creek Forest Tribe’s males fair and square. From what I see, you don’t have the guts! If you did, then you wouldn’t be here at all. I’d be impressed if even one of you can live.”

Lin Yuan looked at them with eyes of pity: “Let’s be real, can you guys even take care of all these females? Your food comes from other tribes, so we probably can’t eat enough at all. And not to mention females, can you take care of cubs when you have them?”

After being ridiculed, even the males in the middle of marking didn’t have the heart to continue. 

The male who had spoken to Lin Yuan earlier stared at him fiercely and approached, ready to shut his mouth so he couldn’t talk anymore. 

But he didn’t even get the chance to attack when he was knocked to the ground by Lin Yuan’s sword.

Now that Lin Yuan had a sword in his hand, these males were just like a bunch of childish bullies in front of him. 

Seeing that two of their companions were beaten by the same small female, this bunch of robbers felt as if they had been slapped in the face. 

The leader of the robbers growled: “Little female, if you keep running your mouth, watch how I get beastmen to tie you up!”

Lin Yuan lazily raised his sword: “Just a few words make you angry enough to tie up such a weak female as myself? As the saying goes, only the truth hurts. I must’ve been right. You bunch are unable to feed your females and cubs, are you even worthy of being called males?”

Although the sword strengthened Lin Yuan’s guts, he wasn’t totally fearless. Being stared at by so many males was like being stared by a pack of wolves. But scared or not, he kept talking. He wasn’t the one in the wrong here, why should he have to keep quiet? “Go ahead, tie me up. If you gang up on me, I guess I can take down eight or nine of you. If you come at me one by one, maybe more than half. But if you do that, then you really aren’t worthy of being males at all. Seems like only our tribe’s males are worthy, they don’t steal other tribe’s food and females and don’t tie up a female just because of a few sentences.”

By now, the robbers had no face to actually bind Lin Yuan. But that didn’t mean the leader would let Lin Yuan go. This female was already marked by a slave and was also clearly a source of trouble. A ruthless glint flashed through his eyes. As males, they weren’t supposed to harm females, but if they accidentally left this little female out here alone, then whatever happened after had nothing to do with them.

After all of the fires were extinguished, Lin Yuan huddled with the other females who smelled of males and felt a little gagged by all of the pungent smells. Finally, the exhaustion of the day finally dragged down Lin Yuan’s eyelids. In a dream-like state, he suddenly thought of the protagonist shou.

He vaguely remembered seeing Yan being dragged off by a male earlier, but thanks to Lin Yuan’s distraction, it didn’t seem like anything further had happened.

Indeed, the protagonist shou’s first male was supposed to be the protagonist gong. How could the world let a random nobody mark the protagonist shou first?

Meanwhile, Yue and the males of the Creek Forest tribe were rushing without stopping. 

Although most beastmen had good night vision, the darkness still slowed them down. 

Luckily the robbers hadn’t gone very far because they were burdened by the stolen food and females. 

Before dawn, Yue and the tribe finally caught up to the thieves. 

Even before they saw the females, they could smell the heavy traces of mating. 

When Yue smelled all of these scents and saw Lin Yuan huddled among the females, he felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck down on him. He didn’t believe that those males would spare his little female. 

A heavy despair suffocated Yue’s heart, making him feel like he had aged decades in an instant. His back hunched weakly, feeling his worst fear had come true. 

The rage of seeing his beloved defiled stripped away all of his reason. The handsome man disappeared and a terrifying black serpent took his place, its vertical pupils exuded icy killing intent. 

The chief of the Creek Forest tribe who was originally planning how to retrieve the tribe’s food and females looked over and turned as pale as a sheet of paper seeing the serpent. 

A monster!

Yue’s massive body slithered toward the raiders like a bullet, whipping up a roaring gust of wind. 

Sensing danger, the robbers woke up in alarm. Under the first rays of the sun, the black-scaled serpent looked like a demonic nightmare. 

Someone screamed: “It’s a monster! Monster!” 

Yue lashed out his tail, sending a male flying. The male crashed into the ground and no longer breathed. 

The rest of the robbers quickly shifted into the beast forms and roared while charging at Yue. 

But Yue’s scales were unbelievably tough, even the sharpest beast fangs couldn’t pierce them. 

It didn’t take long before nearly half the robbers collapsed. 

The Creek Forest Tribe looked at this situation in shock. At this moment, they finally understood what demon incarnate truly meant. 

But they didn’t stand still for long, and soon shifted into their beast forms to help join the fight. 

In this chaos, the females also woke up. Female beastmen grew up sheltered inside the tribe for their entire lives and had never even seen a male hunt before, much less this particularly gruesome and terrifying scene. Especially the massive, black-scaled monster. 

Several females fainted from fright, while others tried to run away. 

Lin Yuan was also jolted awake by the commotion. Opening his eyes, he immediately saw his mighty husband sweeping away dozens of enemies, and his eyes practically sparkled with pink hearts. 

His husband was so cool!

Seeing some of the females running away to who knows where, Lin Yuan scratched his head in frustration and tripped a few of them onto the ground.

“That black snake is Yue, my mate. Our tribe’s people have come to save us! If you run off and get eaten by wild beasts, don’t regret it then!” Lin Yuan snapped. 

The battle was pretty much a one-sided massacre thanks to Yue. 

Lin Yuan ran over just in time to see Yue throw a tiger into the air, and he was almost breathless from excitement. 

Once the fighting ended, Lin Yuan quickly darted over, his voice bubbling joyfully and his tail wagging like crazy: “Yue!!”

Yue who was still in a half-berserk state, felt his reason return slightly when he heard his little female’s voice. 

Turning to Lin Yuan, he immediately lowered his huge head. 

Lin Yuan threw himself onto the serpent’s big head and planted multiple kisses on the cool scales: “Husband, I missed you so much! I was so cold sleeping alone last night.”

The repeated soft kisses and sweet words gradually melted away Yue’s fury, and the killing intent in his eyes also faded. 

He sniffed the little female’s scent, and was originally ready to bring Lin Yuan to a secluded place and mark him for a few days and nights to cover up the smell of another male, when he suddenly found that his little female didn’t have the mark of another male.

Yue was stunned at first, and when he reacted, he was overcome with ecstasy. His little female wasn’t marked by another beastman!

He moved his head and affectionarly extended his tongue to lick Lin Yuan a few times, covering his little female with his own scent.

Yue transformed back into his human form and was about to speak when the little female’s expression changed dramatically and hugged him tightly. 

Lin Yuan was almost shocked to death when Yue suddenly turned into his human form. Half of the people in their tribe were here, and Yue had no clothes on, if he acted a bit slower, then wouldn’t people see that Yue had two…

Ahh! The people of the tribe definitely could not find out!

Yue’s strong arms wrapped around Lin Yuan and pulled him closer: “Sui Sui, what’s wrong?”

Lin Yuan glanced around and saw that a lot of beastmen were looking at them. In a panic, he instinctively covered his husband’s butt and said anxiously: “You.. hurry up and change back! You’re about to be completely exposed!”
