"I am Dawn and I became a Yogi during the very first Covid-19 lockdown. I heard that Peaceful warrior yoga was running stress relief/ mental health yoga sessions online, and thought i’d give a try. I was a total beginner and Emma explained each stage and each move perfectly. Peaceful warrior yoga is very individual, each move can be adjusted to suit your own body & fitness. My favourite yoga sessions are the Mental Health classes, once a month - i can have 90 minutes for ME. I find it difficult to relax but not in this class. I relax, stretch my muscles & joints and release my thoughts. The good range of yoga movements are a great mixture of challenging and relaxing. I love the benefits of feeling myself becoming more flexible each class and feeling my muscles unwinding. My favourite part of going to yoga is the atmosphere at the Yoga shed. Emma creates a friendly, beautiful, warm, calm, relaxing atmosphere, and as soon as i arrive i start to unwind. No work, no worries, no family concerns - just time for me ❤️" Dawn Knowles
"When Emma started Yoga Mental Wellness I jumped at the chance to go along. I was in the middle of a marriage break up, still living in the marital home and I wasn’t in a good place, the chance to take some time out for myself and concentrate on bringing some inner peace and balance to myself and the turmoil I was in.
During the Yin part of the class, I cried the first few times, just came out of nowhere! It wasn’t conscious and at first I felt a little embarrassed but I felt safe, and able to shed the tears because it is a safe place, with no judgement or comment, I was able to just be and that massively helped. I didn’t cry again after the first few sessions and I was able to use the time to empty my mind (which isn’t always easy!) and channel my energy inside. It sounds cliche however I was truly healing inside my mind.
Then we went in to lockdown - again! (new house, first time living on my own, no socialising) but Emma done it online and wow, what a relief! It wasn’t quite the same obviously but even so, that energy and mindfulness didn’t change. I genuinely don’t know how I’d have got through that time. I still go every month now, because for me it’s also about making sure I’m keeping my own mental wellness on top form and not just when things are bad." Dee Jefcoate
"I started yoga with Emma having known her for several years already in a teaching capacity.
Having struggled since my teenage years with depression and anxiety, I decided after reading about the benefits of Yoga on mental health, that I would try and see if it helped.
Over 3 years later I’m still practicing with Emma, because I’ve seen the benefits to my physical and mental health, especially during lockdown, when my mental health was challenged, Emma continued her sessions online over Zoom.
Some of the benefits that I have noticed are reduced anxiety, through learning different breathing techniques, improvements in sleep, and better physical heath through exercise as part of yoga.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Emma and Peaceful Warrior Yoga as a welcoming, inclusive environment to start or continue your yoga journey." James Kirk
