Welcome to the Peace Day Project Management Page. This page is for all stakeholders interested in assisting with the Peace Day initiative. Peace Day is a local holiday that was started by a collection of Business Management students from Benton Harbor High School in 2013 as a service learning project. After careful collaboration, the students decided to plan a peace rally on the last day of school to help reduce bullying and violence within the school and the community. Since then, the students have rallied the support of the school staff, students, the State of Michigan, local politicians, clergy and community members. The students hope to expand Peace Day into an international cultural holiday that will inspire peace and prosperity.

So what has our team accomplished together?
Replaced the dangerous local tradition of fights with a festive holiday that heals.
Inspired students to complete a SafeTalk Suicide Talk Prevention course.
Inspired state legislators to halt school closures and instead invest millions into our public schools.
Established a historic cultural Peace Garden to honor our ancestors and dearly departed loved ones.
Inspired youth-led healing book clubs
Inspired a Fresh Start community revitalization plan that will replace the school-to-prison pipeline with a pipeline-to-peace and prosperity.
Peace4Life led Peace Walk 2019 and petitioned the Governor of Michigan to Save The City's only public high school
