Seeing it from the Peace Mainstreaming perspective there should also be a focus on children´s protection from violence. After all a nonviolent childhood is the very foundation of peaceful societies - and children´s protection (SDG 16.2.) is part of the peace SDG 16.

To understand the linkage between childhood and wars every person involved in peace research or peacebuilding should read books like Robin GRILLE´s "Parenting for a peaceful world", Alice MILLER´s "For your own good", Franz JEDLICKA´s "The forgotten Peace Formula" or Sven FUCHS´ "Die Kindheit ist politisch" (in German).
