Chicagoland’s Weeklong Peacemaking Day Camp
July 28 August 1 9am-3pm
Summer 2025 Theme - Peace Campers Tell Their Stories
Peace has been a goal for our world for much of human history, and every generation has to make that goal their own. We believe that Peace must begin in each person for it to spread throughout the world, and it’s never too early to start. Through the language of global religions, Peace Camp trains the next generation of peacemakers in cooperation and conflict resolution. Campers learn skills to approach their problems peacefully and to create their own solutions to the injustices they see in the world. Every year campers build these skills through art, prayer, exercise, music, and community.

2025 Theme - Peace Campers Tell Their Stories
Hierarchies shape every part of our lives. Racism is a deep and insidious hierarchy in our world, and there are many. This year’s camp will focus directly on how these hierarchies hurt all of us. Sexism, gender identity, economic status, are some other ways that our culture categorizes and ranks people. At Peace Camp we will hear stories that will help us notice the lies that our culture tells us to sustain these hierarchies. We will support children to notice the hierarchies present in the world around them in order to heal it. We will encourage children to notice the smaller, petty hierarchies they see in themselves and others every day. We will empower the kids to tell their stories and be agents of peace and healing in the world to come.
