Chicagoland’s Weeklong Peacemaking Day Camp
August 3-7, 9am-3pm
Summer 2026 Theme - Peace Campers Choose Love Over Fear
Peace has been a goal for our world for much of human history, and every generation has to make that goal their own. We believe that Peace must begin in each person for it to spread throughout the world, and it’s never too early to start. Through the language of global religions, Peace Camp trains the next generation of peacemakers in cooperation and conflict resolution. Campers learn skills to approach their problems peacefully and to create their own solutions to the injustices they see in the world. Every year campers build these skills through art, prayer, exercise, music, and community.

2026 Theme - Peace Campers Choose Love over Fear
Every day we make choices that have a ripple effect in our communities and our world. We will focus on noticing when we have a choice, what it means to choose fear, and what it means to choose love. We will talk about who can help us when choosing love is hard; how we can support each other and find grownups who can help. At Peace Camp we will hear historical stories about the history of racism in the United States and pause periodically to wonder about how our world might be different if the people in the story chose love over fear.
