PEABODY COMMUNITY GARDEN (PCG)
We are a non-profit community garden on federal National Park Service (NPS) land and governed by its rules and federal law. We are centrally located in the heart of northwest Washington, DC, in Ward 4, with free street parking.
We have 80+ plots on almost 2 acres of land. Our plot sizes are approximately 25'x25' and 25'x35'. Half plots sometimes are available. Annual dues are $40 for the 2025 season (March 2025 to March 2026) for all members.
Dues cover some shared garden equipment (wheelbarrows, hoses) and a limited amount of compost for planting season. Woodchips for pathways and mulch are free and unlimited. Garden tilling is available for a fee but is provided at no cost to senior gardeners (70+) by the garden community.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Plots are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. After all plots are assigned, applicants are automatically transferred to a waitlist. Gardeners who received plots in recent years were on the waitlist for about two years.
