How to get to L'Aquila

• By plane
  The closest airports are in Rome (Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino Airport) and in Pescara (Aeroporto d’Abruzzo). From Ciampino and Fiumicino there is a direct bus to L’Aquila, which will leave you at Hotel Amiternum in L'Aquila. You can see timetable and fares on the webpage http://www.gasparionline.it/.

• By train/bus

Since L’Aquila railway station is not well connected, we suggest to arrive to the stations of Rome or Giulianova (if you travel on the East coast along the Adriatic sea). There are direct bus connections from the stations of Roma Tiburtina and Giulianova to Hotel Amiternum in L'Aquila. How to get to L'Aquila city centre

From the Hotel Amiternum bus stop you can reach the city centre by taking

• line 1 bus and by getting off at the Fontana Luminosa (Viale Gran Sasso) bus stop (map; timetable);

• line 2 bus and by getting off at the Viale Crispi bus stop (map; timetable);

• Navetta Est/Ovest shuttle buses and by getting off either at the Fontana Luminosa (Viale Gran Sasso) or at the Viale Crispi bus stop (timetable).

You can buy the ticket at My Suite Coffee&Drink bar, in front of the Hotel Amiternum bus stop; the fare is EUR 1,20. Sometimes it is also possible to buy the ticket on board (not recommended); the fare is EUR 1,60 to be paid in cash.

All attending participants (apart from keynote speakers) are requested to reserve an accommodation by themselves. Please, be aware that September is high season in L'Aquila. We encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible.
