PDF Toolkit — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 September 2026 · App: PDF Toolkit (com.Pdftoolkit2026) · Developer: Ecosocial Utility
Summary. PDF Toolkit works on your PDFs entirely on your device. We do not run servers, we do not ask you to create an account, and we never upload, read or collect the contents of your documents. Your documents leave your device only if you choose to share or print them with another app or service. The app shows ads through Google AdMob; ads, the ad-consent message and Google Play's review prompt are the only things that use the internet.
1. Your documents
Every tool (merge, split, compress, convert, protect, unlock, watermark, extract text, page editing, printing) runs on your device. The app never sends your PDFs, images, passwords or extracted text to us or to anyone else; files and text leave your device only if you choose to share or print them with another app or service.
The app only opens files you choose: through the Android file picker, the Android photo picker, "Open with" or "Share". On Android 12 and older, if you allow it, the app also lists PDF files stored on your device.
Results are saved on your device, in Documents/PDF Toolkit (images in Pictures/PDF Toolkit) or in a folder you choose.
Passwords you type to protect or unlock a PDF are used only for that task and are not stored or logged.
2. Information stored on your device only
To work, the app keeps on your device: your recent and favourite files (names, sizes and links to the files), your chosen output folder, your theme settings, the last page read in recent documents, and small caches (page thumbnails and page counts). None of this is sent to us. Your file list and page-count cache are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. You can clear the caches in Settings, and uninstalling the app removes all of it.
3. Ads and the data Google collects
PDF Toolkit is free and shows a small number of native ads using Google AdMob. Before any ad is requested, the app asks for your consent where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states) using Google's User Messaging Platform. Where that applies, you can change your choice later in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share with Google:
your device's advertising ID and app set ID,
your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location,
how you interact with ads and the app (for example app launches, ad taps and views),
diagnostic information about app and SDK performance.
This data is encrypted in transit and is used by Google for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. On Android 13 and newer, Google's ad SDK may also use Android's Privacy Sandbox APIs (Topics and attribution measurement); you can control these in your device's Ads privacy settings. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
4. Google Play
The app may ask once whether you would like to rate it, using Google Play's in-app review. This is handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy.
5. Permissions
Internet and network state: to load ads and the consent message.
Advertising ID: used by AdMob as described above.
Storage (Android 12 and older only): to list PDFs on your device, and on Android 9 and older to save results to the Documents folder.
Added by Google's ad SDK and the Android libraries it uses: WAKE_LOCK and FOREGROUND_SERVICE, and the Privacy Sandbox ad permissions ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS (see section 3).
The app does not use your camera, contacts, location permission, microphone or "all files access".
6. Children
PDF Toolkit is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
7. Data deletion
We do not hold any of your data. Data stored on your device is removed when you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. For data collected by Google for advertising, use your Android advertising ID settings or Google's controls at https://myadcenter.google.com.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
