Welcome to PDF Scanner & Convert Document, a mobile application provided to you by the developer of the App ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "your") and us, and govern your access to and use of the App and all related features and services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract. If you are a minor, your parent or guardian must accept these Terms on your behalf.

1. Agreement

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you”) and the developer of PDF Scanner & Convert Document (“we,” “us,” or “our”) regarding your use of the App and related services (the “Service”).

Additional terms for specific features form part of this agreement and prevail over these Terms where they conflict.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

2. Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version with a new “Last updated” date in the App or on our policy page. Material changes may be announced in the App where practicable.

Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and uninstall it.

3. Description of the Service

The Service helps you scan, organize, edit, convert, and share documents and codes on iOS, including:

- Document, ID card, passport, visiting card, and book scanning (camera, edge detection, crop, filters, enhancement).

- PDF creation, merge, reorder, resize, signature, text overlay, export, and printing.

- OCR text extraction.

- PDF and document conversion (including server-side conversion where applicable).

- QR code and barcode scan, generate, history, and share.

- On-device folders, import from Photos/Files, and share via iOS share sheet.

- Optional save to Contacts for visiting/business cards (with your permission).

- Push notifications and crash reporting for reliability.

Features may change; we may add, modify, or discontinue features with or without notice.

4. Eligibility and Account

You must meet the age and legal requirements above.

The current version does not require a separate account. If account features are added later, you must provide accurate information and keep credentials secure.

You are responsible for activity on your device and for notifying us of unauthorized use.

5. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and Usage Rules.

You may not:

- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App except as allowed by law.

- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except as allowed by law.

- Rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute the App outside the App Store rules.

- Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or infringing purposes.

All rights not expressly granted remain with us and our licensors.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to (and not to assist others to):

- Violate any applicable law or third-party rights.

- Process content you do not have rights to use (including copyrighted or confidential documents without permission).

- Harass, impersonate, or harm others, or collect others’ personal data without lawful basis and consent.

- Introduce malware or disrupt the Service or networks.

- Scrape or harvest data without our written consent.

- Build a competing product using the Service in an unauthorized way.

- Use the Service in high-risk environments where failure could cause injury or death.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you breached this section.

7. Your Content

“Your Content” means documents, images, scans, PDFs, signatures, QR/barcodes, text, and other materials you create or process through the Service.

- You retain ownership of Your Content. We do not claim ownership.

- Local-first: Scans and files are stored on your device by default. You are responsible for backups (e.g., iCloud Backup is controlled by Apple, not by us unless we explicitly offer iCloud sync).

- License to us: You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content only as needed to operate the Service (e.g., OCR or cloud conversion). This license ends when content is removed from our servers, except where retention is required by law.

- Your responsibility: You warrant you have rights to Your Content and that using it through the Service complies with law.

- We may remove content that violates these Terms or law.

8. Permissions and Third-Party Services

8.1 iOS permissions

The App may request Camera, Photos, Contacts, Notifications, Local Network (for Transfer to PC on the same Wi‑Fi), and file access as described in the Privacy Policy. You control these in iOS Settings. The App does not use the device microphone for recording.

8.2 Third-party services

The Service may integrate:

- Firebase / Google (push notifications, crash reporting).

- Google ML Kit (on-device OCR).

- Apple system services (share sheet, printing, Files, Photos).

- Server-side conversion for certain document formats.

Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability or practices.

8.3 External links

Third-party websites or content linked from the App are not under our control.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, software, design, trademarks, and related materials are owned by us or licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license in Section 5, no rights are granted.

Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT OCR, EDGE DETECTION, OR CONVERSION OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE. VERIFY OUTPUT BEFORE RELYING ON IT FOR LEGAL, FINANCIAL, OR MEDICAL PURPOSES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those cases, exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or breach of these Terms or law, except where prohibited by law.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service anytime by uninstalling the App.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create legal risk, need maintenance, or must comply with law.

Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, government action, network outages, etc.).

15. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in the [Privacy Policy: https://sites.google.com/view/pdfscanner-document-scanner-). By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

Except where mandatory consumer law in your country requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to us as developer, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Consumers in the EEA, UK, Australia, or other jurisdictions with mandatory protections retain those non-waivable rights.

Before formal legal action, contact us at the email below and try to resolve the dispute informally for 60 days.

To the extent permitted by law, disputes are brought on an individual basis, not as a class action.

17. Apple App Store Terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge:

1. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

2. License: Your use is limited to Apple devices you own or control and the App Store Usage Rules.

3. Maintenance and support: We are responsible for maintenance and support as required by law and these Terms. Apple has no obligation to provide support.

4. Product claims: We, not Apple, are responsible for product claims, intellectual property infringement claims, and legal compliance.

5. Third-party beneficiary: Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

6. Export: You must comply with U.S. and local export laws.

Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies where not inconsistent with these Terms. In case of conflict regarding App Store distribution, Apple’s EULA may apply for App Store–specific requirements.

18. Miscellaneous

- Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding the Service.

- Severability: Invalid provisions are modified or severed; the rest remains in effect.

- No waiver: Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.

- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale.

- Headings: For convenience only.
