IMPORTANT: Pdf24 is designed with privacy as a core principle. All PDF processing occurs locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or PDF files to any external servers. However, this app uses Google AdMob for advertising and Firebase Analytics for app improvement, which may collect certain information as described in this policy.

Information Collected by Google AdMob:
This app uses Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may collect:

- App Information: Information about app usage related to advertisements
- Location Data: Approximate location (if location permissions are granted) for ad targeting

We do not directly collect personal information. All functionality of Pdf24 operates entirely on your device:
- To open and display PDF files on your device
- To perform editing operations (text, drawing, annotations) locally
- To convert between file formats (PDF to DOCX, images to PDF) on your device
- To save your edited files to your chosen location
- To maintain your app preferences and settings locally
How Google AdMob Uses Information:
Google AdMob uses collected information to:
- Display relevant advertisements to you

DATA STORAGE AND PROCESSING
All PDF files, edited documents, and app data are stored and processed exclusively on your device. Files are stored in your device's internal storage or external storage (SD card) as you choose. Temporary files may be created in the app's cache directory during processing and are automatically cleaned up. No PDF data is stored on external servers or cloud services.
PERMISSIONS AND ACCESS
Pdf24 uses Android's modern storage access methods that require minimal permissions:
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only): Required for legacy file access support
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below only): Required for legacy file saving support
- No Media Permissions: On Android 13+, the app uses Android Photo Picker and Storage Access Framework, which do not require media permissions
All file access uses Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF) and Photo Picker, which provide user-initiated file selection through system pickers. The app only accesses files when you explicitly select them through the system file picker or photo picker.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LIBRARIES
Google Services:
Pdf24 uses the following Google services:
1. Google AdMob: Displays advertisements. Collects device identifiers, advertising ID, app information, approximate location, and ad interaction data. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
2. Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous usage data, device information, general location (country/region), and performance metrics to improve app quality. Does NOT collect personal information or PDF content.
You can opt out of personalized ads through Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization. Analytics can be disabled by uninstalling the app or through device settings.
Other Libraries:
Pdf24 uses the following open-source libraries for PDF processing, all of which operate locally on your device:
- PDFBox-Android: Used for PDF manipulation and text extraction
- Apache POI: Used for creating DOCX files from PDF text
- Android Jetpack Libraries: Used for UI components and app architecture
These libraries do not transmit any data to external servers. All processing is performed entirely on your device.
Pdf24 does not integrate with user tracking services or social media SDKs. The only third-party services used are Google AdMob for advertising and Firebase Analytics for anonymous app usage analytics.
DATA SECURITY
We implement appropriate technical measures to ensure your data remains secure:
- Local Processing: All PDF processing occurs locally on your device
- No Network Transmission: Your PDF files and personal data are never transmitted over the internet (except AdMob data as described above)
- Storage Access Framework: We use Android's secure Storage Access Framework
- App Permissions: We request only the minimum permissions necessary
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Pdf24 is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not directly collect personal information, we do not process data that would require age verification. App Data Control:
Since all PDF data remains on your device, you have complete control:
