Welcome to PDF Reader Launcher (the “App” or the “Service”). Please read this User Agreement (the “Agreement”) carefully and make sure you fully understand it before downloading, installing, or using the App.
By tapping Agree, downloading, installing, or otherwise beginning to use the App, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by all terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to any part of this Agreement, please stop downloading, installing, or using the App immediately.
1. Parties and Scope
1.1 This Agreement is a legal agreement between you and the operator of PDF Reader Launcher (“we,” “us,” or the “Operator”) regarding your use of the App and related services.
1.2 This Agreement applies to all features and services provided by the App on the Android platform, including without limitation:
- Viewing, managing, and related processing of documents such as PDF, Word, Excel, and PPT;
- PDF editing, merging, splitting, conversion, and scanning, as well as image-to-PDF, PDF-to-image, annotation, signature, and similar features;
- An optional home-screen launcher and related themes, wallpapers, icons, and similar features;
- Calendar/events, weather, news/content, game discovery, QR scanning, translation, file cleaning, and other content or utility features;
- Advertising, push notifications, analytics, and technical support related to the above.
1.3 The App is also subject to the Privacy Policy and other specific rules. If those rules conflict with this Agreement on a specific matter, the specific rules prevail for that matter; matters not covered remain governed by this Agreement.
2. Description of the Service
2.1 Document Processing
The App primarily provides on-device document viewing and processing. Some features require device permissions (such as storage or camera) to work properly. Results may be affected by file format, encryption status, device performance, system version, and file integrity. We do not guarantee that every file can be perfectly parsed, edited, or converted.
2.2 Launcher Service
If you choose to set the App as your default home-screen app, it will display desktop layouts and wallpapers according to its own rules. This does not modify the underlying data of your system’s default launcher. You may switch back to your previous home-screen app at any time in system settings.
2.3 Translation and Related Online Features
Certain features (such as text or image translation) may require a network connection and may transmit limited content you choose to process to our servers or third-party service providers solely to complete the requested function. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you submit for processing is lawful and that you have the right to submit it.
2.4 Free Service and Advertising
The App is currently provided free of charge, without mandatory paid features or mandatory subscriptions. To cover costs such as servers, research and development, maintenance, and customer support, we may display ads served by authorized advertising platforms. Ad formats, frequency, and placement may change with version updates.
2.5 Service Changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features based on business needs, applicable laws, or technical conditions. For material changes, we will notify you through in-app notices, release notes, or other reasonable means.
2.6 Third-Party Services
The App may integrate or link to third-party services (such as advertising SDKs, analytics and crash-reporting tools, push services, translation/content sources, cloud storage helpers, and web links). Third-party services are operated independently and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not warrant the availability, content, or security of third-party services.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
3.1 You represent that you have reached the age required by applicable law and have the legal capacity to use the Service. If you are a minor, you must read this Agreement with a parent or legal guardian and use the Service only with their consent.
3.2 The App currently does not require account registration. If an account system is offered later, you must keep your account credentials secure and are responsible for all activity under your account.
3.3 You agree to use the Service in compliance with the laws of your country or region and the rules of distribution platforms such as Google Play.
4. Acceptable Use
4.1 You must not, in connection with the Service:
- Violate applicable laws, public order, or the lawful rights of others;
- Open, store, or distribute files containing viruses, Trojan horses, or other malware through the App;
- Use the App for fraud, harassment, infringement, or distribution of illegal information;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, crack, or tamper with the App, or circumvent security or technical restrictions (except where expressly permitted by law);
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or related servers or networks;
- Collect or scrape data of other users or of the App without authorization;
- Use the Service for unauthorized commercial resale or large-scale automated abuse;
- Engage in any other conduct that we reasonably consider improper or harmful.
4.2 If you violate this Agreement, we may, depending on the circumstances, issue warnings, restrict features, suspend or terminate the Service, and reserve all rights to pursue remedies under applicable law.
5. User Content and Documents
5.1 Your Documents
Documents, images, audio, and other content that you open, edit, scan, translate, or create through the App (“User Content”) remain owned by you or the original rights holder. You must ensure that you have the lawful rights or necessary authorization for such User Content.
5.2 On-Device and Online Processing
Core document processing is generally performed on your device. Features that require online processing (for example, certain translation functions) may upload content you choose to submit solely to provide that feature. Except as needed to provide the Service (for example, advertising, analytics, push notifications, online content loading, or requested translation/processing), with your authorization, or as required by law, we will not use the body of your documents for unrelated purposes.
5.3 Backup Responsibility
You are responsible for backing up important documents. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, user error, uninstalling the App, system cleanup, permission revocation, conflicts with third-party software, file-cleaning actions you initiate, or similar events.
5.4 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and completeness of User Content, and for any disputes, claims, or penalties arising from it.
6. Permissions and Device Access
6.1 To provide relevant features, the App may request the following permissions (subject to the actual version and system prompts):
- Storage / file management: Read, save, manage, and clean PDF and other document files
- Camera: Scan paper documents, capture images for PDF or translation, QR scanning
- Microphone: Voice input for translation or related features
- Network and related status: Load ads, update news/content, translation, analytics, push, and online features
- Notifications: Send reminders, feature tips, or service-related messages
- Location: Weather and city positioning, region-related services, and advertising-related capabilities (subject to system authorization and the Privacy Policy)
- Set wallpaper: Launcher / wallpaper features
6.2 You may manage permissions in system settings. Denying certain permissions may disable related features, without affecting features that do not depend on those permissions.
7. Advertising and Promotion
7.1 The App may display third-party ads. Ad content is provided by advertisers or ad platforms. We do not make additional warranties regarding the truthfulness or legality of ad content.
7.2 We only integrate authorized advertising platform SDKs and follow applicable privacy and advertising rules (including presenting consent choices where required by law in certain regions). For advertising-related data processing, see the Privacy Policy and the policies of the ad platforms.
7.3 Disputes arising from transactions, redirects, or downloads involving advertisers must be resolved between you and the advertiser.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 The software, interfaces, icons, copy, audio/video, trademarks, technical solutions, and other elements of the App are owned by us or the respective rights holders and are protected by applicable intellectual property and related laws.
8.2 We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable, limited license to use the App lawfully under this Agreement. This license does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights.
8.3 Without our prior written permission, you may not copy, modify, distribute, lease, or sell the App or any part of it, or use it to develop a competing product.
9. Privacy
9.1 We take the protection of your personal information seriously. How we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information is described in the Privacy Policy published together with this Agreement.
9.2 By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to its necessary terms, please stop using the Service.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
10.1 The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of viruses, or that it will fully meet your particular needs.
10.2 To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or damages caused by:
- Force majeure (natural disasters, war, epidemics, policy changes, and the like);
- Failures of electricity, communications, networks, or infrastructure providers;
- Your device, system, third-party software, or improper operation;
- Your failure to update the App in a timely manner;
- Security incidents beyond our reasonable control, such as hacking or malware;
- Service adjustments required by law or regulation.
10.3 Document parsing, conversion, editing, OCR, and translation results may contain inaccuracies. For important business, legal, or financial documents, please verify the output yourself. We are not responsible for consequences arising from reliance on such results.
10.4 After setting the App as the default launcher, the desktop layout may differ from the system’s original layout. This is a product design difference and does not constitute damage to the system or your data.
10.5 File-cleaning features permanently delete data you choose to remove. Please review selections carefully before confirming.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service (including without limitation loss of profits, data loss, or damage to goodwill).
11.2 If we are legally required to compensate you due to our fault, our total liability for the relevant matter shall not exceed the fees you actually paid us for the Service in connection with that matter during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (or, if the Service is free, ten (10) U.S. dollars or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law).
11.3 Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain liabilities. In such cases, the limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by local law. In particular, consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited by law are not diminished by this Agreement.
12. Changes, Suspension, and Termination
12.1 We may suspend, restrict, or terminate all or part of the Service for operational reasons, and will provide advance notice where reasonably practicable (except in emergencies).
12.2 You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App. After uninstalling, some local data may be deleted by the system; please back up first.
12.3 We may immediately terminate your access to the Service if:
- You materially breach this Agreement or applicable law;
- Your conduct may harm us or other users;
- We are required to do so by a regulator or a binding legal instrument;
- The Service is discontinued as a whole.
13. Amendments
13.1 We may revise this Agreement from time to time. The updated Agreement will be published in the App, on official pages, or through other reasonable channels, with the update date indicated.
13.2 For material changes affecting your rights, we will provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement. If you do not agree, please stop using and uninstall the App.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
14.1 The formation, validity, interpretation, performance, and dispute resolution of this Agreement are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of the Operator’s principal place of business (excluding conflict-of-law rules), except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your place of residence require otherwise.
14.2 Disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall first be resolved through friendly consultation. If consultation fails, either party may submit the dispute to a court of competent jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
15. Miscellaneous
15.1 This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersedes any prior oral or written arrangements on the same subject.
15.2 If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
15.3 Our failure or delay in exercising any right under this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that right.
15.4 Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
15.5 This Agreement may be provided in multiple languages. In case of conflict, the English version prevails, except where law requires otherwise. If no English version is available, the version displayed to you when you accepted the Service shall prevail.
