A scanned code may contain information such as:
website addresses;
plain text;
product identifiers;
contact information;

information needed to respond to your request.
We use support information only to respond to inquiries, investigate reported issues, provide customer support, and maintain appropriate support records.
The App does not require account registration.
3. Device Permissions
The App may request access to certain device features. Permissions are requested only when needed to provide a feature you choose to use.
3.1 Camera permission
Camera permission may be requested to:
scan QR codes;
scan barcodes;
capture documents;
take photographs for PDF creation.
Camera frames used for QR code or barcode recognition are processed for scanning purposes. They are not intentionally retained unless you separately choose to capture or save an image.

Depending on your Android version, the App may request access to selected photos, media, documents, or device storage in order to:
locate and open PDF documents;
select images for PDF creation;
convert images into PDF files;
convert PDF pages into images;
save generated documents and images;
create or manage folders;
rename, move, share, or delete selected files;
display recently opened files.
Where supported, the App may use Android’s system file picker or photo picker instead of requesting broad access to your device storage.
3.3 Internet permission
Internet access may be used to:
open this Privacy Policy;
open customer support pages;
open app store pages;
open websites selected from QR code or barcode results;
support enabled advertising, analytics, diagnostics, or other third-party services.
Opening a website or external service may transfer you to your browser or another application.
3.4 Managing permissions
You can grant, deny, or revoke permissions through your Android device settings.
If you disable a permission required for a specific feature, that feature may not work correctly. Other features that do not require the disabled permission may remain available.
4. Local Processing
The App is designed to perform its main document, conversion, scanning, and file organization functions locally whenever reasonably possible.
The following activities are generally processed on your device:

8. External Links and Scanned Content
A QR code or barcode may direct you to a third-party website, application, payment service, communication platform, or other external destination.
We do not control:
the content of external destinations;
the security of external websites or applications;
how third parties collect or use information;
transactions or communications completed through third-party services.
Before opening a scanned link, you should review the destination and determine whether you trust it.
Information submitted to a third-party service is governed by that service’s privacy policy and terms.

We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be shared or disclosed only in limited circumstances, including:

when necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, and integrity of users, the App, the developer, or the public;
in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, transfer, or sale of all or part of the App or related business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Once you share information with another application, the receiving application is responsible for its own processing of that information.
10. Data Retention
10.1 Local information
Local settings, scan history, recently opened document records, folder information, and related preferences may remain on your device until you:
delete the relevant records through the App;
clear the App’s cache or storage;
delete the related files;
reset the App;
uninstall the App.
10.2 Documents and generated files
PDF documents, images, scanned documents, converted files, and other user-selected files remain in the storage location selected by you until you move or delete them.
Uninstalling the App may remove App-specific records, but it may not remove documents or images that you separately saved to shared device storage.

Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:
respond to your request;

maintain support records;
resolve disputes;
comply with legal obligations.
10.5 Third-party service information
Information processed by third-party services is retained according to the policies and retention practices of the applicable provider.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through the App.
The App is designed to keep core document, conversion, and scanning operations on your device whenever reasonably possible.
However, no device, application, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for:
protecting access to your device;
using a device lock or password where appropriate;
reviewing files before sharing them;
verifying external links before opening them;
maintaining backups of important documents.
12. Children’s Privacy
PDF Viewer & Scanner is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13 or the minimum age required by applicable local law.
We do not knowingly request children to provide personal information directly to us.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information through a support request or other communication, contact us at zukkembra@gmail.com. We will review the request and take appropriate action where required.
